Content Manager Not Working

What causes Content Manager to not open assets for editing upon request. I've had to force Trainz to stop running numerous times as a result and then restart.

Can you reproduce this every single time you open CM and edit one item the first time, or does it happen randomly, or is it after editing a lot of items?
What exactly are you doing to make this happen? I have never seen this issue.

Just about every time. I'm currently reinstalling everything from scratch since the files are not recoverable. I'm editing the running numbers on certain units and whenever the app opens for editing or submits them nothing happens. So I have to force Trainz to close and reboot from Steam.
 
You wasted your time reinstalling. It happens and it's annoying.
I had that happen the other day and yet today everything worked fine.
 
What do you mean?
There's a link set up between your text editor, usually Notepad, and TR19 or whatever Trainz version you are using. Sometimes, if you've been doing this for a long time with lots of assets, the link no longer works. Rebooting sometimes solves the problem, but not always. Other times, trying again another day, and the problem has resolved itself.

I don't think anyone has mentioned this before other than the forums and I recommend putting in a bug report.

In the end, no matter how much you reinstall, you still run into the problem sooner than later.
