Content Manager Freezes on "Please Wait..."

Angry Trainz Nerd
Just as the title suggests, I am having problems with TS10 content manager (3.3) yet again. This time, the program freezes on the "Please wait..." screen, and clicking anything brings up a "Not Responding" window and the whole program freezes, making it entirely unusable. The only way it can be closed is with Windows Task Manager.

Does anybody else have this problem?

Is there a way to fix it?

Thanks,
Matt

How big is your Trainz folder?

I have a similar issue with 2012. If I open Task Manager I can see two or three trainzutil.exe processes running, and taddaemon.exe busily reading and writing to the hard drive. My Trainz folder is almost 500 GB, so I assume those processes are rearranging the database, especially since this usually happens after I've installed a number of new assets.

Usually it eventually comes back, although sometimes it may take over an hour to do so.

Hi Matt,

The worst thing you can do is close the program while it's doing stuff. This will only make matters worse and lead to more Please wait... messages because this can corrupt the Assets.tdx database file. Unfortunately, you may have to do a QDR to rectify any mess that's already been created.

I have had this and when I checked the Utils it was validating files.
Just let it co and it will usually sort itself out.
cheers,

I just had a Windows10 update and now nothing launches. First Content Manager would freeze, now the menu screen won't even launch. What gives?
