Content Manager can not find my profile

I purchased the "Trainz Railroad Simulator" from "Target stores" in December of 2009 and have yet to use the "Manage Content" software to any kind of satisfaction. After registering my username and password I obtained my userid by entering my TRS006 serial number at the Planet Auran link Auran website. I then tried to activate my CMP by entering this number in the CMP "miscellaneous" settings. After that each time I try to use the Content Manager I get the message "Cannot find your profile or you do not have a valid seial number. Please...etc"

Is the 490949 a valid userid that I obtained. If not, where do I find my userid when I logon to your website? Will someone please tell me whats going on.

 Read Hear to learn what Content Manager needs to function correctly.

Content Manager is a powerful program, but you have to configure your computer to allow Internet access for CM.

Thanks "backward" for your reply

I do not pretend to know much about th TRS006 "Manage Content" software but I felt that it was trying to make contact with the Auran web site.

As an example, I had successively downloaded "locomotive software" using FTP but was warned that I might need to also download "bogey software". So I tried to download this also by FTP but on doing so the CMP program took over and then I received the dreaded

"Cannot find your profile or you do not have a valid seial number. Please check that your Planet Auran Profile details are correct and entered in your CMP settings correctly"

So thinking that I might not be registered I went to the CMP "Download Helper" section and hit the "Register my Serial number" button. Immediately I was sent to the Auran web site where after logging in with my username and password that I indeed was registered. It indicated that my TRAINZ code was in the system and that I had a userid. I went back to the CMP and verified that my username and password were in Internet section of The Settings box and the userid was in the Miscellaneous section.

Am I wrong in assuming that my Computer is allowing CM Internet access.

I tried to address this problem with the Auran helpdesk and I outlined the problem in a message to them. I hoped for an email message back from them but no reply was forthcoming so I went back to the Auran website to see if there was something in the helpdesk for me. I find the website a labyrinth that I unable to navigate and could find no trace of my message. Apparently it went to a black hole, never to return. If someone could tell me what the procedure is to use the helpdesk it would be appreciated.

Sounds to me like Content Manager is connecting to the server to try and validate your username and password. If a firewall or something was blocking it, then it should say that it can't connect and is offline. (Or at least that's what the TS2010 CMP did when I told my firewall to block all traffic.)
I would say try removing your info from CMP and re-enter it. 490949 does seem to be your Auran user ID number. (Checked via the Planet Auran member search for your name.)

As far as using the helpdesk, it seems pretty easy to me.
1. Click the Helpdesk link near the top of the page.
2. Login with your username/password.
3. If you want to report a problem, click submit ticket. If you already did that and want to check the status of a ticket, click view tickets.

Note that last I heard the Helpdesk is about 10 days behind so it may take a while to get a response there. (A backlog of tickets piled up over the holidays, thanks in part to the release of TS2010 and the errors in the first batch of DVDs.)

No wonder....

 I apologise, I thought I checked the link!

Scottling had a problem with CMP and there is a thorough explanation of what to do here
