Content Manager 3.3 randomly skipping/missing downloads?

Hey all,
Been a while since I last posted here. :) In the last week I've had some ideas for new routes to make in TS2010 and have been downloading lots of content in preparation. Made all the easier by a random un-used 7-day FCT I discovered in my profile. :D

Anyway, after getting most of what I wanted last night I began to check through for missing dependencies/faults and noticed that several items I had wanted to download weren't there. I put it down to me simply forgetting and went to download again. I then began to notice other things were missing...

For some reason my Content Manager seems to be either skipping items listed for download or not installing them or something. For example, I just tried to download bendorsey's mine kit which comprises of many items. I selected all of them, added them to the download helper and hit start. After downloading, 15 of them were still showing as on the download station. I tried downloading these, after which there were 3 left. I then downloaded these no problem. Same happened with hirochi's trains - after adding all of them it didn't download them all and required several items to be added again.

Additionally, many of the "missing dependencies" are actually listed as being on the DLS, so it isn't downloading all of them either.

I'm now having to go through everything again to check. :(

Is this a common issue? Is there any solution?
Thanks :)

This happens often if there is an updated version on the DLS that hasn't filtered through into your CM's database yet - I don't know how often the CM databases are updated, but it's not often enough (it seems to lag by up to a week). The (older) item is visible in CM, but when it goes to try and download it, the DLS reports a newer version available, and it gives up.

This may not be the reason why you're seeing this, but it's a distinct possibility. If you find an object that won't download like this, it's a quick job to check the web DLS on that category and see if there has been an update of that object in the last 7 days or so, if there is, grab the .cdp via the 'FTP link' on the download page (the download helper link won't work until your CM sees the update in the database).

I'm not sure if that is what is causing it or not.

What I've noticed is that sometimes when dragging items to the download helper it adds an item "kuid <0:0>" (which obviously doesn't exist). On a second attempt it will add the correct item. I presume it then prevents other items too as they will try to be added as "kuid <0:0>" which already exists in the download helper list.

If I right-click an item and click download it doesn't seem to do it, but I'm not completely sure yet. :s
