That's very kind of you to turn the glaring spotlight of forum attention my way, but it is completely undeserved! Also, it's factually incorrect as I now have 3512...er...3513, but that's not the point!

There are people here who have consistently done nothing except to help others, and they deserve far more praise than I. I'm thinking of John Whelan, S301, rweber95, and particularly robin hoods. These guys are helping all the time, usually don't take part in mindless debates, and don't usually post to make a joke (as I do many times). If you culled all the waffle from my total, I would have far less than half of what I do now, while these other "useful engines" would still have all their posts to their credit!

My dream is to help as many members as those I have listed before I am done. So, nay, I say; remove from me this harsh light, and heap the adulation upon the true heroes of this forum!:)

hmmm, I remember the days of waffle cards and waffle trains. Even the odd "lopping" of post counts has been known to happen. Happened to me once.

Anyhow, congrats Ed, your posts are always a good read and laugh.:)

Ed, congratulations and I just love your little jokes. I always cruise the threads just to see what little bit of wit you have for us today. I'd also have to say that you've been a lot of help to a lot of members, especially me.
thanks
Mike

Congratulations Euphod ,

And as usual a nice reply by you to the other members who are continually helping with advice and answers !

I put one person on my 'ignore list' several years back , let us simply call him 'Ed' , I went into serious depression , and my shrink finally suggested I place this 'Ed' fellow on my 'buddy list" , my life has since been full of unicorns and little bunnies !

Congrats again buddy --- ,dave

Thanks guys, but really, please stop! I don't deserve praise just because of a high post count. You know after a few posts saying how nice I am someone is bound to take exception and post what a rotten jerk I am!

And I fully admit to being a rotten jerk sometimes!

Truth is, if new members used forum search first or Google search at all, I wouldn't have to help them out. Most questions here have been answered time and time again, as we all know!

I used to enjoy creating for Trainz, I used to enjoy working on projects at TPR, but now that my eyes are going South, about the only thing I have left is answering other's questions. Trainz has been a part of my life for the past eight years, and it's not that easy to give up.

Again, thank you all, but please stop!:D

Good day, Ed. I understand you don't really care about the count, but you have helped me quite a bit. You DO seem to be here a lot and seem to be willing to help when no one else is around. And your sarcastic little comments are usually witty and a lot of the time they hint at how to find stuff out.... Google?! I have learned to research my questions before I post, thanks to you and the few others who are willing to help he less experienced get on the right track. You and similar minded folks get people learning the ropes without being totally unwelcoming. So thanks for all of the crap I was talking about!!

Jimi

Time!

Eight years is a long time dude! I just been lookin through the trainz mag site to answer a friendship call and found a link to the old UTC DLS. After downloading some things I could not find on later DLS pages, I realized that I remembered the title banner's image from when I first got linked up to the community website. Now tell me how long that has been! I don't think it's eight, but gettin close! And in honor of your big day Ed, this post gives me four aces!

Ed,

If you give me permission, i can start a new thread telling everyone that your a "rotten jerk"...and ask everyone not to thank you for your help.

I would prefer not to start that thread, but it would be your decision.

It's doubtful that anyone would take exception to you or your posts. We are, after all, a mature, intelligent and thoughtful Community.

Again, with the warmest regards,
Ron

Thank you for your kind words Ron, as undeserving of them as I may be!:D
AHSAN, I should have included your name in the "Useful Engine" list, you always help others as well.

And it's 3,534 now, for those of you keeping score at home!:o

...with deep regret...

 Yes...I remember the innumerable conversations, advice & otherwise ridiculus hob-nob of the "Grandest Impotentate"...:hehe:...

I regret however not being able to fulfill his request for pulpwood rakes for a new lumber mill on his route(they didn't(really "don't" ) exist then).

The mill, burned to the ground before I could find one... :'( :mop: ...(:hehe: )...

He recently taught me about the "Ignore List" availible as an Auran Forum option...:o...

Well Ed, even though the fact that you've amassed so many posts, it's the content of these that everyone appreciates young man. Your humour ( some of it adult and vulgar just how I like it ) over the years have left most of us breathless with laughing, you're witicisms and helpfulness have made you a true veteran's veteran. Your screenshot posts have always been top drawer and coupled to that the wealth of content you have created for the community over the years would leave many Trainzers in the shade. The locomotives, rolling stock, the wonderful winter layout you did for everybody, the scenery items birds, animals and people ( those Punk Rockers were real class ) you did with JWeaver, and an endless list of various terrain features for the UTC and TRS2004 versions, over 500+ assets on the DLS, that's something that many of us also appreciate you for ....You're a real Pop to the newbie kids on the forum and a mate to those who have known you for many years, the forum without you would be like bread without any butter. So, here's to another 3,500 fun-filled posts in the future, well, as many as your weary eyes will let you do......:)

Look after yourself....

Cheerz. ex-railwayman.

Congrats Ed :)

Not to go off topic , but Dave I remember your greetings to all , and any new members , " Welcome to Trainz " . If you had not abandoned your policy I calculated that you would be all time post leader considering the growth in members . It is nice to hear from you if only once in awhile  .

the forum without you would be like bread without any butter

The only thing I put on my bread is nutella, and the only thing I put butter on is rice and waffles:eek:

But seriously Ed, you do deserve some recognition for what you've done these past eight years here. At the very least you've served as a bad example, but I believe that you've been that and so much more to us:p:hehe:... Whether it was churning out loads of Trainz content (particularly a certain 2-C-1 steamer) or waffle after waffle of anecdotes, advice, entertainment or some truly intriguing thoughts of yours, you're not undue of the following you've attained, even if some of it is brandishing pitchforks and lit torches:p

Here's to another 3500 posts full of sarcasm, Trainzy bits, contents of the mind and the wittiness for which you have become known. I raise my can to you, Grandest Impotentate!
