Concerning graphics anomolies

In this video you can see some graphics anomalies that have come up in one of my routes. The first part shows a problem in certain textures, and the second shows a problem in basemap layer.

Everything looks normal in a drive session.

TANE SP4, I had that same graphics corruption on one of my routes. I shifted the time of day from 12 noon to one minute before or after. Problem solved for me.

That looks like PBR texture anomalies. What is the KUID and name of the textures so we can check them out.

Lighting does also play a part in this as well.

@JCitron. The textures are in TANE. PBR textures are not in TANE. Or are they?

You are right in TANE there is no PBR.

Since I saw TRS19 as the only registered application, I assumed this was '19 In TANE that would be the bump map doing that because of the shadows. In TRS19, PBR is applied so textures do some weird things like this.

Now what's interesting too is if a texture is placed thinly against a surface, or against two contrasting textures, z-buffer fighting occurs. This looks like what's occurring here.

I would like to test these textures in both T:ANE and TRS19 and see what's up with them to cause that. Please provide the KUID for these two textures. :)

The original Poster mentioned parking lot asphalt. I have since changed out the textures giving me issues so I cannot give you those kuids.

I'll have to go search. Having Kuids makes searching so much quicker.

<kuid2:2300:21001:1> Parking Lot Asphalt - A built-in asset by smooz that's build 1.3. I've used it for years and never had an issue with it including in TANE and TRS2019.

I checked the built-in asset by smooz in TANE and there are no issue with it even with various lighting settings and performance settings including shadows up high, low, and post processing on various settings as well as off. Are you sure it's this asset?

Here are the two textures that got wiggy:

kuid2 2300 21001 1 Parking Lot Asphalt

<kuid2:72938:21096:3> UltraTexture - US Mainline V2 Gray Ballast - Seasonal/Full Snow
or
<kuid2:72938:21097:3> UltraTexture - US Mainline V2 Gray Ballast - Seasonal/Full Snow

I don't know which of the UltraTextures I am using since they have the same name. How do you get the kuid while in Surveyor?

I'm running TRS19 Platinum build 105175 on the Steam platform.

The time has to be set to noon -- I had to set the time to noon to eliminate the shadows from the backdrops.

Let me know if there is anything else you need -- I'm happy to help.

Thanks Jim. I'll keep investigating.

On the Main Menu settings in Trainz, click on show Kuids checkbox. This will show the kuid of the asset within Surveyor and it's really helpful in cases like this and also when placing assets. It's gotten to a point now where I'm beginning to recognize users by KUID. Ah... I don't use Surveyor much do I! :)
