Computer Problem Need Help

About 2 weeks back my computer stopped working. Originally, I thought it was the graphics card and the power supply. So I ordered a new power supply.
Today the power supply was delivered and I installed it, and I still have no power on the system.
Other then a bad power supply, what can cause a computer not to power up?

Have you checked that the wire from the power switch on the front of the machine is still snugly attached to the motherboard and/or on the correct pins? If it isn't then it would obviously cause it not to turn on when you press the button.
However other then that I can only say it is probably something you would not like to hear.

I've checked all the plugs...they're all snug. I have a small LED light that is lit on the motherboard, but other then that I have no power.

Is it dead?

So the motherboard is getting power.
Are you sure you know what wires I am talking about? I changed my power supply awhile back and accidentally pulled the connection off the motherboard that goes to the power button on the front of the machine, since it is a really old machine they used individual little tiny things instead of 1 big thing where all the wires go to 1 spot and simply connects all at once(Meaning Power + and -, reset + and - HDD LED + and - and sound for the Bios beeps pending how the motherboard is setup)
However it could be that the motherboard or processor is dead or dieing.

Ouch! you are not having much luck,

I'd start disconnecting things, to see if something else is causing the problem. Start by removing that graphics card, if that's the problem it should still fire up after making a couple of bleeps, just switch it off again before it starts loading the OS as you won't be able to see anything.

If it's not that then in turn disconnect the drives, any other cards, fans, then the memory, should again get get a series of bleeps without it. If not any of them it's looking like a motherboard or processor problem, not a Gigabyte board by any chance? as a common fault with older ones was a failed capacitor.

I had one here for repair the other day that wouldn't start up, turned out the case fan was ceased and the Power supply was tripping out.

No luck at all...I unplugged everything but the motherboard and still nothing...it looks like the motherboard is DOA. So ends my hobby in Trainz for a while.

Last ditch test is to remove the processor, may get some beeps or not but if it's the processor at fault the power supply should run and the drives power up. Failing that it does look like a motherboard problem.

As a thought, you may not be able to run Trainz on the PC you are using at the moment but you should be able to run Gmax on it and knock up some of your bits and pieces?

Do you here some beeps, if not you need to add a case speaker to get the beep code. It could be bad ram.

I hear no beeps at all. My guess at this point is that its the motherboard...I can't see what else it could be.

A lot of new computers do not have a case speaker, a lot of new cases do not have speakers. I got one out of my old 386 case, most are 2 or 3 inch with two weirs that go to MB.
