I have some difficulty with the Compass based viewing system. Eventually practice may help. However one change would be a nice feature for viewing from the cab of a locomotive. Presently the Compass seems to be attached close to the ground. However, when you are viewing from the cab of a locomotive it is raised do you can see from the windows. If you like running a train from this view some of the trackside elements may not look so good since you are now above them looking straight out.
To preview your choice and placement of trackside things, as viewed from a cab, it might be nice to have an option to raise the Compass to cab height while in Surveyor mode. That way you see how your vegetation and other objects will really appear. As an example an area with grass splines may look good with the straight view from the Compass now but it is from a point maybe close to the ground. The cab is way above that. and the splines may not look so good at that height and take on the appearance of rows of neatly laid grass rather than a natural field. A selectable fixed cab height view would reveal that before you take a ride in a train.
