Comp problems

Ben1337

Trainz operator
My comp's running 2 slow so I tried to reinstall trainz (including content to make space because I had 3 GB left) but it wouldn't install. It propositly crashed when I was installing the base files (i think that that was it had said).

The CD looks more or less good as new.

what do you think is the problem?

Do you think it's my anti virus scan that is the problem?

I've tried disabling the antivirals software and it didn't work.:'(

I would like to get trainz working as soon as I can so I can try painting a truck on this thread. GIMP confusion

Hi Yes you should always disable any virus program or Norton, Zone Alarm etc.
Before reinstalling or installing 06 and any service packs.
Make sure you have completely uninstalled 06 and that no folders have been left behind before reinstalling.
Dont try to reinstall any content you have backed up until you are sure you have 06 working

Hi Ben, the fact that you only had 3Gb disc space left suggest that you are trying to run Trainz on a fairly low spec computer. Perhaps you could post the specs of your computer, in that way someone may be able to give you some clues how to get Trainz working, although you might have to sacrifice some other programs.

John

Ive got 8.84GB and there was a file transfer error when I tried to install it again.:'(:(

Robin hoods:Why did you say 04 when I had posted this thread in the 06 area?

Something tells me that i won't be able to finish that tutorial.

ok ive got AMD Athlon(tm)prosussor and 1.84GHZ,512MB fo RAM that enough for you?

I had got this info on ctrl pannel/systerm.

Yes it does look pretty low spec for running Trainz. I wonder if you have got loads of demo programmes and other junk clogging up your computer. Can any one you know help you with a re-format and fresh installation of your operating system and ESSENTIAL applications. It's drastic, but might be the only way to get Trainz (sort of) running. May be you could get a new system for Christmas?

John

I haven't got any demos but how come I had installed it before with about the same programs on my comp.

What could be the file transfer error problem be caused by? because I think that that's causeing the problem.

Do you think that my game is corrupted by downloading too much stuff? Because on another thread I said how much I had downloaded.:'(

Hi Sorry I meant to put in 06 not 04 I have now changed the thread
Re Do you think that my game is corrupted ?
Yes it could be if you have downloaded some content that was corrupted.
You would need to remove it.

Well the file that it (presumably) corrupted was a bace file. When I try to start it up it says a fatal error and closes. I feel that I am making less and less relevant posts on other threads.

I can't believe that I have got TRS working but I have no idea how.

WELL START BY BUILDING A SIMPLE FLIPPING LOOP AND LEARNING THE BASICS!

We are friendly but we all have a limit to our patience!

John (and I bet Caddylars and Jivebunny and .... and ...)

by the way whats a flipping loop?

Come on lads stop being so critical of Ben. You may put him off posting on the forums, then I,ll have no alternative but to go back to reading comic books.

Regards, John
