Commodities & Waybills in TS12

Newbee question.....Can someone explain how commodities & waybills work. Can any industry be assigned a commodity that it consumes or only certain industries that are interactive?

The industries like coal mines, power plant, lumber yard...ect are set what they consume. You can only change the rate at which the consume and the amount they start with. Now there are other things like multi purpose track (multi-industry) you can set whatever prduct you want it to consume.

Following on from this, is there a list anywhere of all the interactive industries and what they consume/create, or a way to filter the picker in Surveyor?

Here is what I have found, cant remember where though...hope this helps!!

Industry------------------- Produces -------------------Consumes

Foresty --------------------Logs
Coal Mine------------------Coal --------------------------Deisel
Oil Refinary ----------------Deisel, Petrol, Aviation Gas ----Crude Oil
Oil Field -------------------Crude oil
Power Station --------------------------------------------Coal
Lumber Mills---------------Woodchips, Lumber------------Logs
Pulp Mill-------------------Woodchips--------------------General goods
Barley Factory------------Barley
Bockbeer Brewery--------Bockbeer----------------------Barley
Bread Factory-------------General Goods------------------Flour
Chrysler car Factory------Chrysler Car-------------------General Goods
Chrysler Car yard---------Chryler Car--------------------Steel

Here is the chart of the built-in industries.

Waybills system is worthless. Instead of an industry generating a waybill when it has produced something that needs to be delivered to a customer. It generates waybills only for what it consumes. For example, the power plant will generate a waybill to have coal delivered to it.

In my version of Trainz Simulator 12 build 46957, there is no Barley Factory, Bread Factory, Chrysler car factory or Chrysler car yard. The Bockbeer brewery has no corresponding rolling stock to take the barrels it produces. There is a Meat Packing Plant that requires cattle but no cattle cars to supply it with. There is a Quarry that produces several products for which only some are supported by rolling stock. There is also an abundance of rolling stock that carry products for which there is no corresponding industry props.
In this version the user has to resort to using the Multiple Industry tracked props to complete the loading and unloading of products in which case some imagination is needed to replace the visual depiction.

Here is my list of props that have tracks and have some product depictions being loaded of offloaded and some may have been missed in the haystack of props available to sort through.

I would bring it up to date if I could figure out how. The page that seems to do that asks me to register. The page that responds to register says it is already registered.

Not talking about Registering your game. I'm Talking about updating your build number from 46597 to 49922.(updates Updates)

Back to the waybill topic.
Is it possible to design a layout that will allow the demand for products to be met by the transportation of supplied products to their destination without resorting to modification of the default settings? The quick answer is no, if you restrict yourself to one only of each interactive object and leave their setting at their default values.

The following demands cannot be met when left at default; General Goods, Logs and Lumber. The supply of general goods from Warehouse Large plus Factory 8 would be 30 units per minute, yet the demand from Airport, Seaport, Container station and warehouse large is 40 units. The supply of logs from forestry is 2 per minute but the demand from Lumber mill plus Seaport totals to 3. The total consumption of Lumber from seaport and factory8 is 4 units per minute yet the source Lumber mill only produces 3.
It then becomes necessary to adjust the demand factors to match the supply factors by either resorting to portal trains or modification of the default settings of the interactive objects. The Coal tipple, the Oil Field, can supply enough to meet demands. The other commodities such as Petrol, Aviation fuel, Diesel Fuel, containers, general goods and Woodchips are variable, in the sense that they depend on other product demands of the their interactive object being met. Without modification of the settings the lumber mill will stop production when the lumber or woodchips becomes full or the logs become empty. Containers stop production when goods supply runs out. Factory 8 stops producing goods when lumber runs out.
To complicate matters further the theory that all the trains will take the shortest route and follow direction markers when executing orders is just so much wishful thinking for given any excuse to take the longer route or run counter to the direction markers they will.
