Good Afternoon All
Thank you for reporting the spelling error on the caboose. Seems this one slipped through (it was beta tested, by quite a few people, but doesn't seem to have been picked up).

Over the years, I've had other content creators mention they intentionally leave obvious errors in their models for beta testers to find, only to find them never reported. This does somewhat show that things can slip through from time to time, as even the best testers can miss things.

I have passed this on for it to be looked into, and resolved if we do release an update in future

Regards

IF??? Although I didn't buy it, I would certainly hope that if I actually PAID MONEY for content (especially with the number of freeware creators out there) that if something as flagrantly wrong as a spelling error in the railroad's name would be resolved in an update almost immediately. "If" shouldn't even be a question. Seriously, it is a matter of retyping the name on the Photoshop layer and rendering out new textures.I would hope that N3V would care more about making things right, especially on the heels of the debacle that was TS12SP1. "Oh, look, here's more stuff for you guys to buy, but we're not even sure if we are going to fix the misspelled name!" Come on! You OWE US better than that!

It's available as a pack at simulatorcentral.com

Hi Zec,

Let me know when it is corrected and I'll then part with my money.

Cheers

Paul

Perhaps we can treat the caboose like a rare stamp that has an error - keep it for years and sell it when it the market $$$$ make it invaluable - just a thought! butler57

Wow this was really well said. On another note, I wonder what does user NKP think of this scribal oversight? Perhaps he could impart some spelling tips for the mighty Trainz Devs up there with regards to his namesake railroad.

I won't buy it until it is fixed. It would be outrageous in my opinion to make an error such as this on payware and not fix it. At least unlock it for edit so the community can fix it. To compound he problem, it works for an update that not only doesn't do what it's supposed to, but also essentially breaks the game as well. No gonna upgrade to a parch that breaks 90% of my content including payware. These two problems, or at least the first one should be fixed. ASAP.

J

EDIT: I take he part about unlocking it back. They should fix it. It's their product, not ours.

Wow. So the word "nickel" misspelled is that big of a deal? to me it has so little impact to my enjoyment of the actual content its ridiculous. sure, its payware and it should be fixed. but im amazed at how something so trivial gets people so fired up.

Okay, I wouldn't call it trivial.. Here's how I would summarize my humor with it.

1) It's a new product, a new shiny product representing a piece of railroad history, the New York, Chicago and St. Louis Railroad Company. Since you've put all your time money and effort into making this a product, don't you think a Google search or even a spell check would be in order?

2) Railfans and Model Railroaders are fanatics when it comes to detail. If a piece of rolling stock has the wrong type of bogie or a locomotive, the wrong tender people will go out of their way to correct it or point it out to you, endlessly. It comes with the turf. UP has some beautiful E9 locomotives that were upgraded with newer power. The Chassis, The locomotive is an E9 however they used wrecked GP38-2s and re-powered the units. In the B Unit they modified it to have a separate HEP power plant. To some in the the Railfan community they're called E38-2s or E32s... They won't call them E9s anymore because of these changes. I've seen model railroad weekends where guys were forbidden to run a set of beautiful ATSF streamliners because that particular weekend the club was celebrating Eastern Railroads and wanted to keep with that theme. Having the words wrong on the caboose is a bad thing.

3) People still get upset when they see the UPRR for example running SP locomotives in their original livery paint with only the rolling number painted over first in Yellow and then with a UPRR number. It tends to insult people, but it's another example of how passionate some folks are about their favorite flag.

4) I'd buy it, I said I would were it not for the fact that I have other DLC content that's not fixed yet. If I buy this with the misspelling or other problems, when will it get fixed? Maybe never if history is any indication. If I buy payware from other vendors, I can get it fixed relatively quickly; actually buying payware from the third parties out here us usually right the first time. I'm sorry to say, with N3V myself and other get to play a waiting game.

I don't fault the effort, the images look great and once N3V fixes the problems with the spelling, I'll buy it, in a gold box if I could, but first I'd love for them to fix the problems with the other DLC that I've already purchased already. Until then I'll just run my Blue Comet, PRRT1, Duchess or Aerotrain for while I wait.

It's less an issue of the typo itself and more of their attitude towards their payware. Jackson's post put it in words best. You wouldn't buy a car with an upside down badge and the manufacturer telling you "oh, we'll maybe fix it in the next model year".
