Come ride on the Nikel Plate Road

Wow, how I wish people had done this when I released by Victorian Railways freight wagon pack... Took 1.5 years for someone (actually, two people within a week of each other...) to tell me that there were a couple of spelling mistakes on the sides of the wagons.

Unfortunately, spell check isn't possible when working with textures, especially if you are 'drawing' the textures rather than using a 'text' function (last I checked, photoshop didn't have a spell-check for the text tools either?).

Regards

Imma turable sphellur - So when in doubt I fire up the word processor, let it spell check, then copy/paste the checked text into the text box in my graphics program....

Hi

Reading through this thread you would think that this content only consists of a caboose. In actual fact there are three locos, a boxcar and a depot building supplied along with the caboose . I would imagine that most people that buy this will be like myself, mainly interested in the locos with the boxcar, caboose and building seen as freebies. If you are mainly interested in the locos then you will not be disappointed as these are some of the best content that I've ever seen in Trainz. On the other hand if you're only interested in the caboose, which most of you on this thread seem to be, then it will obviously be a big disappointment to you.

As this was only put on sale a couple of days ago and it is now the weekend then it may take a few days for N3V to respond to this but I believe that they will put out an update in due course. When I first installed SP1 and redownloaded the S&C route I was annoyed that I could no longer repair a track fault at Carlisle station. I reported it to the helpdesk and three or four weeks later an updated version of the route was downloaded with this and a few other minor faults repaired.

It may be that N3V will want to wait a week or two to see if there are any other faults reported before updating this but I think that they should be given the chance to do so before we all get so hysterical.
In the meantime I'll just continue to use this great content while the rest of you contemplate the missing "C".

Regards

Brian

I'll purchase this once they correct it. Yes, I'm one of those fanatics about realism. I tend to run locomotives that are weathered a bit, not in perfect colors since that exists only for brief periods out on the rails. Since this is a payware piece, it is certain that the piece won't allow editing, so if purchased now, you're stuck with a flawed object until ( and apparently) N3V decides to update it. Update? How about simply fixing it? Seriously it cannot take more that 30 minutes to resolve, and put the repaired .cdp onto the download so that purchasers get a perfect product when parting with their cash. I'll wait. Once the problem is fixed, I'll purchase.

I'm going to be a bit of a contrarian here, as I sometimes do in real life, and in other places on the internet.

There is a very small chance that the caboose with the mis-spelling is an accurate model of the caboose as it was freshly out shopped at some point. Over the years, I remember several instances where one of the magazines in the US targeted at model railroad enthusiasts or railfans ran short items showing a photos of different railroad assets (to use the Trainz term) which had various issues with the lettering, paint job, or other issues.

Granted, while the items I describe are real, they are also exceptional, and if I were inclined to want a Berkshire, I'd want to see a photograph of the caboose with the misspelled name, too, and I suspect I'd also want da second caboose in the pack with the corrected spelling.

ns.

I know Textures can be a problem, but Google Image Search helps too :o I think the ladder needs to be red too!

Also, why does SimulatorCentral have this image?

Would somebody like to explain if the real content has the spelling corrected or is the artwork correct?

As for "Nikel" I can't find nothing.
Wow... Auran is not spell checking as much as they should. If i had the money i would wait. Maybe once I get good at making stuff in blender, and if they don't release a "fixed" version, then I will make one as Freeware that all you could edit if something's wrong.
