Can someone let me know what the code is to embed a Youtube video in a forum post (so we just see the start image from the video).

Thank you

Or you can simply use the "Insert Video" icon in the forum posting reply page and then fill in the popup box which you can cut/paste from the YouTube url.

Moderators- If this should be a new post- please say so...tho' it seems this might be a good place to start.
Do we currently have a place just to post our video links (like the screenshots have their own posts) ??
I know I'd love to check out some recent videos from the forum members, without trying to wade through a typical YouTube search for TRAINZ videos.
It would help to include a short description in the forum post to accompany the video, ('tutorial for setting switches', or 'new assets used', or 'how different tracks look', or '5 minutes of a new route worked on', etc...),
I think it would be great !!
Any interest?
Rebecca

From yesterday in Eastern Canada to tomorrow in Australia, Thanks Kieran! It works (as you said there just need to be no spaces in the code). And thankyou Mezzoprezzo for the even easier hint.

Derek
You're very welcome, Derek. :)

I included the spaces so that the line would not format as the actual code and would remain plain text.

@Rebecca: There is a 'Trainz Videos' thread in the Screenshots area of the Forums (http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?2150-Trainz-videos). Though I think a Forum area set aside for Trainz videos would be a very good idea, and it could be split into subcategories such as 'Tutorials', 'Freeware Showcases', 'Payware Showcases', etc.

Kieran.

Thanks Kieran- I'll go look at the videos in the screenshot area of the forum- but I also think a forum set aside just for Trainz videos would be the best idea.
How would we make that happen here in the forum (who do I have to request it from?)

Hi Rebecca,

I hope all is going well for you.

Contact the helpdesk and put in a suggestion there. You'll have to choose a non-covered category. It may also help to put a suggestion in the Suggestion Boxcar forum as well. These two may get someone's attention at the top where these decisions are made.

John

Thanks John,
I'm doing well and I hope the same holds true for you too.
I will try both of your suggestions-I've never been to the helpdesk or the suggestion Boxcar Forum before... something new.....
Thanks again, Rebecca
