I have Trainz Classics Version 3 and everytime I try to download locomotives from the download station, they never show up. Every single one i try to gets says missing dependencies. I dont understand it. Any ideas? There cant be errors on every single train..lol.

CMP

Do you open them for edit, and commit them ? Perhaps it is only one author or supplier of locomotivs that is the problem ? Which loco's are you trying to get working ?

There are a couple of reasons why an asset will not show up in Trainz.

Make sure you are commiting the downloads. Click on the Open for Edit tab, highlight the items (CTRL-A to select all). CTRL-M to coMmit.

The other problem is that there is something actually wrong with the object. This can be one of two things:

- Missing a dependency.

This is something that was listed in the configuration file, but CMP couldn't find it on the DLS. For this you need to manually search the DLS by Kuid for the missing part.

- Typographical errors in the configuration file.

The typo referrs to a non-existent Kuid, or some other important part such as a mesh file.

Now keep this in mind that a dependency can be reported missing if it can't load due to errors.

Hope this helps.

... and do remember that the TC series have had a lot of the "old" poorly written built-in assets removed...

So if all the locos you try to download use (for example) built-in asset: say -345:7890122, and it's not in TC3, then they will all have a missing dependency!

ok guys thanks alot let me check and make sure they are commited. It has just been really crazy, cause I have never really had the errors before. The only downloaded engine i could get to work was a gp9. None of my GP40's or SD's..wierd. Thanks for the help. I'll check the commit.
