CMP Not Opening

Win 7 OS. IE8. Trainz '06. When I try to go into CMP, it just sits there for 5+min stating 'update data...'. Once it was verifying my Ser# but that too just sat there. Any ideas with this? THANX fo looking.

Two questions.

What is your build number (found by opening Trainz fully, then looking at the bottom-right corner of the main menu screen)
Have you made sure Trainz is set to run as administrator? Under Windows 7, simply having an administrator account is not enough.

Version 2.6 - Build 3335. CMP worked before but just started acting up. No problem on another PC running Trz '06. Just tried as Admin. with no luck. My CPU shows CMP usage at 50+ to 90+% but the task mgr states 'not responding'. When I open it up, I get the screen, but not the cranking sound.

It's probably creating the asset database, which can take upwards of an hour in TRS2006.

I'll have to try letting it sit a LONG time & see what happens. I used it on 1/29/12 & didn't see a problem...even did some downloads. Once it does complete - (If) - will it be quicker after that? THANX

It should be - CMP in TRS2006 has a long history of crashing frequently, and the larger the database, the longer it takes to rebuild it.

THANX for your time. I've been adding to a layout that I'm working on for my grandkid. Maybe it's the scenery items & Multi-industry that I added. I'll get back & let you know what happens next time I run CMP.

Well............I was so accustomed to NOT waiting so long it seemed broken. After an hour+ it was OK. 2nd time took 20 min. THANX so much. now, can you tell me whats wrong with the config file for the BR 8T cattle wagon? When I load it's ok - when I head to unload I get a message stating 'PH FX Features Disabled on Br 8T Wagon Due To Missing Config. Data'. I get the same thing on 2 separate PC's...1 XP & 1 Win7. Seems I've got a glitch in the program loading. If so, I can sent a copy, but it's LONG. THANX

Could you post the KUID number for that wagon, so either me or someone else can check it? It may be that the config.txt for that wagon is missing important third-party tags.

It's good to see that it's opening correctly now, though.

It's <kuid2:44090:15070:6>. I don't know a lot about this part if it, but seems that it's missing something or worded wrong in the unload part of it. CMP 9Now working) shows 'Never' in the installed column. Do you know of a different cattle car? I posted this in Surveyor Category & AussieNightcrawler is looking at it too. THANX.
