CLRV for Trainz!

Hello everyone,
I havn't been on here much as i use to but, i need someone to convert the CLRV from this site http://www.3dtransit.com/
into a Trainz version. I have premission from the creator of this model, he is busy now and doesn't have time to do it him self, so he says that someone from here might want to do it. If someone is willing to do it, he will email everything you need to convert it.. PM me your email, and i will forward it to him, saying you are the one doing it, and once done, he will post it on his site for everyone to enjoy.:)

On the website there does seem to be a 3DS version that can be downloaded. Maybe someone in possession of 3DS can help you with that? :)

Blender can accept 3ds input. I had a quick look, the poly count was a bit high on the one I looked at 11k I think, you'd need to find a bogey and take the existing ones off, the pantograph works differently in Trainz as well.

The thing I had a problem with was the way things were grouped and mapping a texture file to it. You'd have to break the groups and I'm not certain how to do that.

Some times things will move easily sometimes not so easily. In general building for a Sim that will perform well is quite different to making something that looks nice in a CAD program.

He says that the textures were done in Adobe Illustrator,
then converted to bitmaps. So email him if you need help with the way the way things were grouped etc...
