Cloning a single board on a route

Is it possible to clone a single board from a route?

There is one board on one of my layouts that I would like to clone, and place it on a different route.

I know that I could delete every board on a route except the one that I wish to clone, but I don't want to do that!

thanks,

Ian

I think you would have to delete all the unwanted baseboards, and save under a new route name ... then merge that baseboard with your route, or extend baseboards off of it.

I believe that copy and paste does not work from a route ... to another route

It's probably best to save the whole route to its new name first, before you start trimming down to the single baseboard.

Maybe that's just me being careful, but there'll be less risk of messing things up.

I'm a great believer in belt, braces and string. Measure twice, cut once and all that!

Hi Ian,

You can save CDP files in 2004 but you have to use ContentDispatcher, found in your main TRS2004 folder. I think rather than saving a board to CDP you will have to make a cdp of a complete route. Therefore saving the route under a new name then deleting everything except the board you want to copy is the only way. Next step would be to install the cdp in your other computer as a single board route then merge it with the route you want it in.

Why don't you just add an other basboard to the layout, thne use the tools in the Tools tab in Surveyor to just select and paste what you want on to the new baseboard? :D :p ;)

Regards.

You would still have to delete the rest of the route and make a cdp of that one board route.
