Classic Carbon City from Steam - Newbie Help

Hello. New user to Trainz series. Experience with TS2013 (from RailSimulator.com series)... but this appears to be way more complicated. But I really like the city layout and design included in Classic Cabon City, and I will get more enjoyment with short distances between stops using these tram routes.

The content included in the game download, it seems to all drive on it's own. Is there a tutorial to help me thru laying out a route (on the existing track) that I can drive? Or is there easy downloads of preset routes that I can drive?

Thanks. Looking forward to understanding and enjoy the game.

If you have installed it as standalone, you will not be able to edit the included route(s). In order to be able to edit them or create new sessions, you will need a full version of Trainz (TS2009/TS2010/TS12) to import them into,

Welcome to the forums, anyway.

Shane

P.S. If you do indeed have any actual Trainz versions, can you register it/them please.

It is possible to install it as an addon if you have a supported version of Trainz, which would be TS2009,TS2010 or TS12.

As for the Route Planning System, that sounds like a session-specific feature.

as i've said once before some games are not meant to be on steam!!! TRS is one of them that shouldn't be on Steam don't know what they was thinking:confused:

Yeah, I feel that it was a bit misleading. World of Subways seems more my thing then if I don't want to get super in-depth with the full Trainz system.

I'm in contact with the publishers at trainzland.com... hopefully they can give some insight on the "Route Planning System" feature.

All I can figure out is after I get in a train, with the 'trip computer' (that appears in the top left corner) I can select which direction I go when I hit a switch/intersection... but that's all on the fly, and I can't pre-plan a route at all.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. :(

I purchased this route a few months ago, from Auran, and have hardly used it. Navigating on your own, is a real pain, and I quickly got frustrated with it. There is a forum on this site, and I submitted a question months ago, and there has yet to be a reply since then. Zero support and interest seems to be the rule with this route. Luckily I got it on sale for $4.95, so no big loss. http://forums.auran.com/trainz/forumdisplay.php?56-Classic-Cabon-City-Addon

Bob,

I felt the same way with this route. The Murchison and SnC are worth the investment. Murchison is quite awesome to drive and the terrain is varied. Sir Gibby did a awesome job with this route and sessions.

The good thing about Trainz is even if you don't use a route, you can always include the content from that route in your own creations. There is on caveat though you can't include the payware add-on components in a route you're going to upload to the DLS.

Hi deathkid,

Welcome to the forums.

The main difference is that Classic Carbon City is an addon to the Trainz simulator, whereas City of Steam (according to the review) is more of a fighting/adventure type game, as well as being a browser-based game.
