Class 350/444

Hi all

With the addition of the 350/4 to First Transpennine Express in a few months, it's really got me wanting a 350! I know there are none of these around, however I was wondering how easy it would be to 'convert' nexusdj's 444 into a 350 simply by attaching a pantograph to the top of one of the non-Driving carriages?...slightly cheating I know :hehe:

Actually, there is, but it's not on this forum. Have a look on the British Trainz forum in the Released Rolling Stock section.

Possibly - you may need to email him though to ask. I currently use the London Midland variant on most of my London Midland electric routes (apart from those that use Class 323s).

They look quite different to me but in answer to your question is that you would have a traincar that wouldn't go. You would need to add an enginespec, horn and enginesound tags, and borrow another traincar's interior - i.e. one with controls. The panto could be added with PEV's attachment maker but I'm not sure if it would respond to the panto key.

It might be doable. I only do steam locos so my knowledge of new fangled electrikity stuff is marginal.

@shane I've started a thread on the British Trainz Forum, let's hope he see's! I think there'll be a demand for the FTPE variant soon as they start appearing on routes from Manchester Piccadilly - Manchester Airport, Liverpool, Glasgow and Edinburgh!

@pcas1986 I was planning on only editing the one carriage, which would have been the PTSO, and operating it as standard behind the 444 to create a trainset that looked somewhat like a 444 but with a pantograph. Imagine if London Midland borrowed a 444 from Southwest Trains and put a PTSO in the middle of it, kinda like a 350/444 hybrid! But now I have the 350 this won't be necessary :hehe:
