Citroen 2CV

Have made this but not uploaded it yet. My aim is to have it working with Andi06's 'traffic library' which is under development. Just thought I'd stop and show a screenshot.

Hi,

nice work, but this is still the third realization of this Citroen ... and the second this year. Please check out www.trsbingen-nahverkehr.de (the author is user Wolle) for the download. The realization can be seen for instance on the latest layouts of darkdan, mistral69 and fredo69.

regardz,

Jean-Paul

Sure, but this will be the only one that someone bothered to put on the Download Station to make it easier for people to find. By the way, the layout you see in the background here is Darkdan's Europe NG 4.

Oh hell. You are right. Must be an English tourist and he has forgotten what country he is in. I will see that the gendarmes correct his ways before it's released.

In my research on this car, I read that 2CV means "2 steam horses", which must be either the power rating of the engine or a French delicacy, I'm not sure. :)

Easily done, just make sure he's got his headlights adjusted and his compulsory hi-vis jacket with him!

The direct translation from the French (pronounced "deux chevaux" here) is actually just "two horses", which is a reference to the fiscal horsepower used when calculating various taxes, registration fees etc. My mother had a sky blue one of these when I was little, some of my first memories :) not the quickest thing off the mark though...

Good work :)

I'm getting this from Wiki, but they say 2CV came from 'deux chevaux vapeur', which would be '2 steam horses' wouldn't it? I'm thinking it goes back to the times when steam engines were first equated to horses, and they simply applied the same units to gasoline engines when they came along.

BTW, should I add side mirrors? I was thinking about poly count when I left them off the model. It is currently 1308 polygons...mirrors might add another 20 -30. Are they worth it?

And another BTW, I'm not having much luck understanding the AJS Traffic Library, so this might take a while before you see it on the DLS.

Your willing slave,

~ D
