Changing turnout names is not as critical, but no two turnouts should have the same name, as trainz needs to keep track of turnouts to throw, in AI.
I once named all my turnouts with only a apostrophe, ie: '
Looked pretty, but Boy, did that really mess things up !
I like to keep the naming more descript, or short, ie: 115, CP 115, or D Yard Main-Siding E.
AI relies trackmarkers (and they also can have separate names, or numerals), as that is what AI really follows, like a path of bread crumbs.
On my point to point route, I name my first yard, A Yard, and the first switch is A 1-2 E (as it is in the east end, and leads to A Yard track 1 & 2).
Where it leads out, on the other end of the west end of the yard, I name that turnout A 1-2 W, as 1 track, and 2 track converge there.
I have 2 train stopping trackmarkers @ 200' prior the west end exit, of my A Yard, which I named A 1 W, and A 2 W.
By keeping things in alphabetical order, it is easy to direct an AI train schedule, to travel from A Yard, to B Yard, to C Yard, to D Yard ... etc ... etc ...
