Change driver instructions

If I find that I made a mistake, in driver instructions rules, (eg sending to the wrong trackmark etc) is it possible to either delete or change the instruction or do I have to delete and replace the entire set of that driver's instructions?

Hi Bill,

You can simply change that particular driver instruction out by dragging it up from the instruction-bar. This will move that instruction out of the queue. You can then click on the small arrow that's in there and add in the track mark you want. Keep in mind this will only be good for the running session, and will not effect a saved session which you will have to go back and edit afterwards to fix your error.

Another tip:

Lets say you have scheduled a trip in Surveyor and are now running it in Driver mode. The train is doing a "Drive to .. " to some remote location and you suddenly see that you have made a mistake or omitted a command.

Without leaving Driver you can drop a "wait 1 minute" command into the first slot of the schedule. Then while the train is waiting, add any other required commands to the schedule and remove wrong ones. Now drag the wait command off the schedule and the driver will carry out the new schedule.

With practice you can edit the schedule "on-the-fly" without stopping the train.

I'll expand a bit on the stop-train thing.

If there are lots of commands, I will set the time to 30 minutes which gives me enough time to quietly add my commands in carefully without feeling as if I need to rush. The process only takes a minute or so, but having the extra time makes the palms of my hands less sweaty! I then remove the wait-time and the driver carries on.

Thanks to everyone for all the good advice. I didn't realise you could drag instructions out of the list. I was trying the usual computer things like right clicking, pressing delete etc. This is a great help. Thanks again.
Cheers Bill
