.cfg Files are Too Wide to Print

Sometimes there is information in a cfg file that I would like to print, such as the description of a session or the details of using an animated object. The way the file opens in CMP, however, without word wrap, makes it too wide to print.

I would appreciate any ideas on how to get around this problem.

Many thanks,

Warren

Do you have a word processor, like MS Word? You might try saving the cfg file as a .txt file, then opening it in Word or similar, and printing it from there. You'll be able to set the margins in a word processor.

Hope this helps.

Art,

I'm reading the file in CMP and can't save it from there to another location where I could open it in Word or similar. Is there some other place to get at the file?

Right Click in the body of text > select all > copy > paste into notepad and activate wordwrap.

Never mind! I just realized that I could cut and paste from the cfg file and reformat it as you suggested. The file system in Trainz is a little unusual and the standard techniques don't always work with it.

Thanks anyway.

In CMP you can right click the kuid and open for Edit in Explorer. The open the config.txt file in the word processor of your choice.
