You will need to make sure that both the cattle dock and the wagon you are putting the cattle onto (if it's not on a built-in or downloaded session) are both industry compatible. You may be able to test this using a Load command if the train has a driver.
not sure what you mean by industry compatible but the cattle loading dock has its own track and settings and there was only one wagon available to download from download manager and it was preset for cattle.
Although when i go to click on the commodity list and click on the cattle it will not let me assign it to a wagon.
