I'm wondering if there is a way to prevent carz from stopping on the tracks when they are backed up.
On a route with two sets of tracks, 50 yards or so apart, the carz that back up at one crossing, stop on the tracks of the other.
Not a good situation, is it; but very prototypical for how people drive in the US.
I suppose that I could place an invisible traffic light at each crossing, triggered by the other, so that when the far crossing is closed, the traffic signal at the near one turns red, and carz stop for the light.
Or, maybe using the ATLS crossing system, just have both sets of gates close when a train approaches on either track.
