Carriage Washer

Hi all,

I wonder if anyone knows of a model that represents a carriage washing facility of the 1950s/1960s? There are some nice models on the DLS but they're either too large or too modern. I've put a picture below of a Bachmann model, similar to what I am after. I considered modelling one myself but it looks a little too detailed for me to do any justice and I fear the poly count in Sketchup may be a tad high. I'm not after an animated version necessarily so even if someone has kitbashed a representation a pointer in the direction of the assets used would be most helpful.

Hi John,

Thanks for that; I had seen that on the DLS and it's not quite what I'm looking for; apart from the low resolution textures it's too high as well and not quite the correct style. MSGSapper has produced an updated version with better textures though again this is still too large and his version looks more modern.

Have you tried : SAP_Washing_Plant_Bedford_PBR KUID2:439337:106481:1 on the DLS ?

I have indeed; it's a nice model and is my current placeholder but again it's not *quite* right. I've scoured the DLS and there aren't any other washers that I can see out there - there is a trackside object but it's far too long for what I'm after but it is a nice model.
