Capture Session as Video

Hi Guys,

What is the best way to capture video of a running session? Sound and all? I could point my digital cameras (video mode) at the screen and speakers but there must be a better in-pooter way of doing it. Any ideas?

Bandicam or fraps are good. Bandicam trial version is 10 minutes recording at a time and it has the bandicam name in the vid, but the recording is still very good. Fraps trial version is about 3 mins recording at a time, I think. These programs can be purchased and the limitations are removed.

Thanks guys.

A bit of downloading and a bit of testing and I settled on Bandicam. You get 30 mins per record. It has a "pause" function, can set the resolution and format as well. And the watermark is tolerable. Watch this space.

My recommendation is the full version of FRAPS.

The other item you will need is an application to edit and compress the video. Here my recommendation is VirtulaDub. It's fast and efficient. And, most importantly - free.

There's actually a better way and it's FOSS. Get FFMPEG and a screen capture driver. Here's an example:
