Cannot move or altr track

I have a section of track which is faulty......but surveyor won't let me move the track vertex, nor delete the vertex, nor move or delete the track itself.

I get that beeping sound when I try to select that you get when trying to alter something when a loco is too close to that area........but there is nothing at all within hundreds of meters, not even any junctions/switches.

I have to go about 500 meters away from this point before it will again allow me to adjust any track sections...in either direction.

Really need to correct this, as it is on one of my mainline tracks, so son't want it creating problems.

Any ideas as to cause or correction?

Thanks,
Mark

The fix is really simple.

In surveyor, with the tab that shows all the track.... at the bottom...click on Advanced.

You will find a button that says...Add a Spline Point. Add a spline point...a circle like your pix above...on both sides of the place where the error is located.

Then...delete the track between the 2 new spline points...and relay the track.

Didn't notice... are you runnig 04 or 06? Not sure of the cause, but I have this happen to me sometimes, also in 06. I know this isn't the way it is supposed to work, but open the 'Objects' tab for 'Spline'. Delete the offending piece of track from there. Then return to 'Track' tab, use 'advanced' button and delete the spline point.

still no solution...

Thanks for the imput.....and to the others as well......but

I had already thought of that, in fact went back down the track a good long way, inserted a spline point in an attempt to create a "by-pass" of sorts...thinking, like you, that I could then go back and delete the bad section........nope.
I cannot do ANYTHING with that stretch of track...I cannot move the points, I cannot delete them, I cannot insert anything, I cannot change the vertex elevation.......nothing.
As said, there is nothing at all withing 500 meters either direction..except parallel mainline track which works just fine.

For the time being, what Ive done is taken that "by-pass", raised its elevation approx the height of the rails, and moved it over top of the offending stretch.......in essence......"burying" the bad stretch underneath.

But, I really hope that is just a temporary solution, for I know how quirky things can get.

Oh, and this is on TR2006.

Thanks,
Mark

I had this problem in 04 once. As far as I can remember I increased the spline point height and discovered that there were others below which when deleted allowed the 'bent' track join to return to normal.

If it were a stray track he should be able to move or delete it. It may be the ghost of some rolling stock that's no longer there. try deleting missing assets and see if the problem clears up.

How to delete "unknown" asset?

You might be on to something there Claude.........

when I checked the dependancies & assets in Content Manager, I see this:

unknownasset.jpg

However......I cannot even find this asset?
Altho it is listed under my kuid number.......it does not appear in the "My Content" listing............and just judging from the number, is most likely something that I cloned.

Also........if I look in the Route's config file, it does not show up in neither the kuid table nor the string table.

Likewise, it does not appear in the Session's config file either.

How can I locate, and hopefully delete this asset?

Thanks,
Mark
