can trains switch Junctions?

You need to explain further. Are you driving the train, setting Driver commands, or what? Are you new to TRS-19 and just don't know how to change switches or you know and theres a problem?

Yes new to Trainz, Sorry I was referring to a AI train, I have watched non human driven trains switch a Junction, (I think they did) but all my Ai trains derail at the nearest Junction. If I am driving I do not have a issue, I just pause and flip the junction and pray I got it right.

I can't find anything that shows a train switching a junction, so it does not derail

It will mostly only work in AI mode, but you could use these Hump Sort assets, and assign a Tag to the Loco, then when it approches the junction, if it has the correct tag, will swicth the junction automatically for you.

See this page to see how the assets work;

I think this can help: "Junction Derailment Prevention"

It is a driver command that can be added to the Session Rules while creating a "Session" which is better than "Quick Drive" even if you are doing a non-complicated type drive like exploring a route. Once you place many of the basic instructions in a " Session " you can later develop it into more complicated " Session " if you decide that the route is worth making your own Session!

The rule is: <kuid2:121843:100282:1> and what it does is change the next junction from the divergent leg to the one that you are approaching from. A lot of times one can just drive through a junction that is thrown for the wrong leg but some vehicles can derail but all will derail if you stop a consist with the junction in the middle and then try to reverse but with this rule in place, you don't have to worry about making that mistake. It helps a lot when trying to navigate through an area with a lot of junctions crammed into a short distance!

I wrote that some time ago. It may still work for you. However, it does not use the permit system, and makes no attempt to work with other AI that may also be manipulating a junction. One correction, it is a rule, not a driver command.

Here is couple of Pictures to show where your going to get that Ruled tagged for use in that Session.

Launch your Route in Edit Form (Surveyor Mode)

Second Icon (looks like Piece of Paper and Pencil) has Edit Route, Edit Session, Edit Environment, Edit Effect Layers Options.

Select Edit Session.

Top corner of your Screen find Edit Session and this next screen should open up for you.

Should look something like this........Then hit the ADD key at bottom here. New Screen pops open.........

Then just type Junction or first 3 letters of it. You'll see the Name of the Rule pop up. Junction Derailment Prevention.

Once done, go click Check Marks to close and activate your Changes.

I'm a very visual person, so I learn quicker by Pictures than by Text.........Hope this helps you out to see what your looking at,,,,,,,,,
