Can anyone advice me with strange car behaviour?

Hello Everbody,

I'm looking for some assistance with the following case.

When I place Ben Dorsey's Cardinal boulevard overpass 7 on a baseboard, the appearing cars are acting in a strange way.

In the upper part of the cardinal boulevard overpass, I see this situation

Cardinal boulevard overpass 7.jpg

The car appears sideways and slides from left to right. In the lower part of the boulevard - on the right side, the cars are driving from south to north in a normal way. On the left side, the cars are driving backwards from north to south.

I have had contact with Ben Dorsey and Ben checked the boulevard overpass. Attachment points are correctly placed and Ben has no strange car behaviour.

Can anyone do the test with cardinal boulevard overpass 7 and check if the same behaviour occurs? Or do you have any idea what could be wrong? PS I have this in Trs09,10 and TS12.

Thank you

Best regards

Kurt - I have found this happening with some other road assets in Surveyor, especially junctions such as crossroads. However, attaching a road spline has always cured the problem. Have you tried doing that? Have you also checked in Driver to see whether there is the same problem?

Other than that, I'm afraid I can't offer any help.

Hello Ray,

Thank you for your reply.

Yes I connected a road spline to the cardinal overpass and what happens - the car appears again sideways on the cardinal overpass and when it reaches the road spline it turns and drives on in a normal way. When a car appears on the road spline in a normal way, at the point when it enters the cardinal overpass, the car continuous its way in a normal fashion.

In driver, I have the same phenomenon.

I know this may sound stupid, but what happens to the cars if the overpass is rotated through 90 degrees?

Have you connected a road through the underpass section as well?

I'm wondering if it's do do with invisible tracks within the model and there is some kind of "short circuit" if all four roads are not connected.

Hello AntonyVW,

Thank you for your reply.

I turned the cardinal overpass over 90 degrees ( in stead of north-south direction, it was now laying east-west ). I placed a couple of them in the east-west direction, and now not a single car appeared on the upper and lower part of the cardinal overpass ( I watched it for nearly 20 minutes  ).

Best regards

Hello Casper,

Thank you for your reply.

I connected the road splines to all ends of the cardinal overpass ( in a north-south and east-west direction ) and now all cars were driving in a normal way. :D

Casper, you were spot on () when you mentioned "short circuit" if all four roads are not connected.

You're welcome Kurt.

I downloaded it prior to your last post to try it out. I didn't have the YARN dependencies to start with, so nothing would connect. However, once I had the two necessary road dependencies found that it worked perfectly without the roads connected at all.

I'm now wondering if your problem main have just been a temporary glitch. Or maybe you just have bad drivers in Belgium!

Anyway, as long as it now works for you, that's the main thing.

Cheers
Casper
