Cab Mode or DCC Mode, which one do you prefer?

Okay, before you assume this is another one of my stupid "polls"...yes deeelare I'm looking at you!:hehe:
Know that it is not.
I have always wondered what the majority of people use.
I myself prefer DCC because the Cab controls are kind of quirky in my game.
So which do you use?

DCC. It's kinda like running my N-scale model railroad but better, cuz I'm in it. :)

Running cab mode is fascinating--but my hand just can't take all that mouse work. Running DCC allows me to concentrate better on operations, anyway.

Cab mode (keyboard controlled) for me, although I've mainly used DCC mode while tinkering with TRS2004. Though in Cab mode, pleasure of driving usually depends on the amount of detail that the content creator put into the controls bit of his locomotive. Some have quirky controls indeed.

For instance, the TER train thingy that you can drive in '09 does look good, but you can't control the brakes using the keyboard. It'll lap when you hit Z key, but no initial or applicating braking. That'll make me pick another train to toy with.

And some have nicely working throttles, where some do not. I'd rather tap W key 24 times to get to top speed then tapping W key once for traction and not being able to stay below say 10mph or 16km/h. It's minor details like that that makes some trains more enjoyable to drive for me in cab mode then others. :)

CAB mode, unless I'm testing something and either need to be quick or need to test under DCC :)

A poll by any other name is still a poll...:p

And stupid is almost always stupid --

IC , at least we have you thinking prior to your threads on polls , etc. .

I run diesels mostly and find that DCC mode works fine for me . If I had Raildriver that to me would be great , but I have never found an extra
$ 170.00 to spend , but I am certain it is worth the price .

DCC vs Cab Mode

Some loco's special effcts only work in Cab, and not in DCC...Norfolfsouthern37 ATSF F7A Gyro Mars Light only works in Cab, when the train is put into Emergency.

When in Cab Mode, if you use the keyboard to control the loco, you can sit in external Free mode, and control the loco...you need not be in the Cab to use Cab mode.

DCC is for easy control...Cab is for real advanced fun...The built in SD70's in TRS2006 are real fun to start up while in the Cab, flipping control pannel switches like an Engine Hostler does...starting up loco's in the cab.

I tend to run cab mode, keyboad controlled in diesels. I'm trying to get better at running steamers with the pointer on my lap top.

DCC mode when testing out my route in progress, other than that I like to use Cab mode for abit more fun.

Cheers

I used to only use DCC but lately have gone over to Cab and getting used to it now. Some diesels are a pain to drive with cab controls because you have to set the camera view so low it is hard to see far ahead. Same with steam you cant see much from the cab. Great controls on the BNSF dash 9s make it a dream to drive.

Cheers
Mike
