Buying TRS22

You can purchase TRS22 on it's own without paying yearly. Click on View purchase options and you'll see it's currently on sale for 48.99 USD.

Trainz 2022 is a one time purchase. Trainz Plus is a subscription which currently includes Trainz 2022 with extra beta features. At some point, there will be a new version of Trainz and the Plus subscription will allow one to use that.

OK I got that but from what I gather the on sale version of TRS22 is a watered down version of the yearly subscription. If that is true will there be the possibility of adding features to bring it in line with the yearly version as time passes? Sorry for the concern but a couple of years ago I got screwed with TRS2019 because I was never able to install it and got no support from N3V or whoever is responsible for those situations. What the heck they got their money so it was easy to ignore my inquiries for support and I was out whatever it cost back then. Of course I am stupid enough to try again once I figure out how much money I am willing to possibly throw away again.

"watered down" implies a dilution of built in features. This does not seem to be so. There are features that simply are not included in the non-subscription version.

TRS22 is the same version for all. It's the memberships that offer different extras. like

TRS22 Plus one of the following memberships

TRAINZ PLUS First Class Ticket, Latest Trainz Releases, Trainz PLUS Updates. New Content.

SILVER CLASS First Class Ticket, All DLC Access. Trainz Store Discount 10%.

GOLD CLASS First Class Ticket, Latest Trainz Releases, Trainz PLUS Updates. New Content, Pre-Release DLC Access, All DLC Access. Trainz Store Discount 25%.

If you end your membership the extras will also end and you revert to the standard TRS22.

Am I to understand TRS22 is now a yearly purchase rather than paying for the download one time as in the past?
If you purchase TRS22 you get the full game.
HOWEVER... There is an item called a "First Class Ticket." When you purchase TRS22, it comes with a 30 day First Class Ticket. The First Class Ticket allows you to download from the Download Station at maximum download speed. If you don't have a FCT, you can only download items at 4-10kb/s.

I don't have one, so it's a matter of preference. Downloads just take a little longer is all.

Hi,

The other change from Trainz Plus subscription to the retail version is that the subscription versions have Surveyor 2.0 - an enhanced set of tools for route creation.

I'm sorry to hear of your problems with TS 19 - I've recently had to download an installer file and run it from my PC rather than across the internet.

Can you post you PC specification (e.g. CPU, GPU, disc space)? - the experts here may be able to advice if your PC can handle it...

Regards,

Colin

I have since updated my computer to a $3000.000 Alienware Aurora R13 with Windows 11 so I no longer am concerned about running much of anything game wise. Train and flight simulators are my only interests as far as gaming goes anyhow. Granted it was no doubt my computer that was the cause of my problem with TRS19 but my major gripe was the lack of support from N3V or whoever was responsible for providing support. I am going to take the plunge and install TRS22 and hope it is as good as TRS06 was. Progress is just another way of going backwards as the old cliche goes. Thanks for all the input and help given to my posts.

Hi,

You'll find that the graphics of TS 22 are far better than '06.
Do read the notes on getting the best performance from your system - TS06 uses the CPU quite hard (I lost one CPU to inadequate cooling) whereas '22 shares the load between CPU & GPU.

After installing the base program, allow several hours to download the included content - there's several packages you'll need plus a number of routes.
Use the "Content Store" button on the launcher.

Enjoy,

Colin

A little late but thanks to all the input and information from the ones that responded to my thread. Especially Colin that broke it down in terms even I could understand. ;)

That’s no problem!

Having just become “very senior” I sometimes need simple things…

You’ll find TS22 much better visually than previous versions, though TS19 isn’t far behind.
You’ll also find that many routes/sessions will import from TS19, Tane to TS22 - though there are occasional differences.
if you want to use a TS2006 route/session, create a CDP from 2006, import to TS19 first.

enjoy,

Colin
