Buried Engines?

I have 3 buried engines. Finally on the third burial sessions began confused.
Has anyone developed a firm process to deal with this?
"digging" did not reveal any engine.

Do I have to ID them and delete from the Download Station?

I located them using the Find Object function/Consists.
That revealed the assigned names and a location.
But, I could not find a tool to get to the engines.

Unfortunately, I cannot locate any ID. One has a name but that has not produced a location.
I can't find anything odd on the DLS but I did not expect to - not a database issue.

Look for it/them in the config file. When you have a kuid, you can delete them in your CM. Back them up somewhere first, of course.

There's a couple of ways to fix this.

Try Delete Missing Assets first. That will sometimes delete the buried consists.

The alternative is to merge layers by taking the session layer and moving that into the route. That will raise up the dead locomotives.

Editing the route or session config.txt file to remove assets doesn't work. The references in the config.txt file are only for the search filter. The actual assets are tracked in one of the route files. Removing the assets listed in the config.txt file will only remove them temporarily but as soon as a DBR is run, they will reappear in the route. This is the same for missing assets.

The buried engines are only locatable in when editing the route. I have tried several operations and all are ok. So, thus far, the burial is not an issue for normal operations. I'll let them rest in peace.
THANKS for your help.

Sometimes you can take a known good engine or railcar and place it on the track by the buried asset and move the good asset to couple with the bad asset. I've done this to resurrect some assets (showing red in the map).

That works very well in some cases but not always as I've found out.
