Built-in Assets Missing Dependecies?

Hello again, My Tidewater Point Rail Sessions are missing the following Kuids.

Unknown Location: <kuid:-2:1077>
Unknown Location: <kuid:-2:1071>
Unknown Location: <kuid:-2:1084>
Unknown Location: <kuid:-2:1082>

If anyone knows where these are or if there even available give me a link.

"-2" does not indicate built-in, it indicates that the content was created locally on a machine with no planet auran account registered.

kind regards,

chris

I've only got 3 '-2's and while they all show Author ID as 'Unknown' two of the three deffinitely have 'Built In' yellow/grey laptop logo thingys and absolutely none of them were created locally....

Not locally on your machine but possibly created locally on someone else's PC and obtained by downloading content from a non dls source, still doesn't explain the yellow builtin indication though.

So went to have a look.

No -2's in TS12 here but 4 of them in 2010 just deleted one of them to see if it would, it did, as did the second I tried, but the other two as one would normally expect with the yellow indicator refused to delete, very odd indeed.

One of the -2's was a pretty basic NG route obtained from a non DLS source and to be honest not worth the disk space, not even sure why I still had it and must admit I hadn't noticed the -2 on it, anyway it's now gone.

Auran Trk01 2Trk <kuid:-2:1005> unable to delete and has a dependency of Auran Trk 01 1Trk <kuid:523:15523>
Signal MN02 <kuid:-2:1018> unable to delete and is a dependency of Harlem Line <kuid:-12:1002 and Springfield Industrial District <kuid:447264:1035>
Wagonownia <kuid:-2:1095> can delete and has a dependency of 750mm 4 <kuid:2703:38732> this is odd as the asset is a building and has a route as a dependency? looks like it was added to the kuid table probably in error, it's an item from polish Trainz.
Rotherham something or the other NG24 route, forgot to make a note when I deleted it and it wasn't on my other 2010 install to check however I'm sure there is an identical route somewhere with a different name

The only time I've seen the -2 issue is if content is created whilst the system is not connected to the Internet in TS2009 or earlier versions and/or the username and password has not been entered into the Trainz Options box) - similar to what Chris said.

True but they can still be downloaded from elsewhere, it doesn't have to be your setup that caused it, if you follow.

I agree, but there are two potential issues here:

1.The Download Station will not accept content with a negative KUID.
2.Trainz will normally assume negative KUID assets as being built-in.

Shane

I seriously doubt that it a -2 could be uploaded to the DLS by any normal means as it would get rejected aas not your kuid anyway.
The actual builtin -2 I suspect got in by whatever the procedure is for submitting routes for inclusion in the retail copy of Trainz

Looks as if CM treats anything with a - kuid as builtin regardless.

It's surprising no one seems to have come across problems with -2's before other than the OP picking it up.

I've come across it before, usually with routes.

The usual reason is if the asset has been created on a system where the username and password have not been entered into the Trainz Options box.

There are a few -2 kuids that are N3V's, but not a lot.

Shane

Hadn't though of that except autosave is not going to create a -2 dependency for a builtin route! Autosave has never been used here since the first week I had 2009.

I have seen missing assets listed by CMP as -12 !!!

-12 is normal. So is -3, -1, and -18. Perhaps there was a mistake in the kuid-table?

Anyway, check that the offending assets do not have a green triangle. If they do, select them and press CTRL+O to revert them to their original out-of-the-box state. In the future, you should never tamper with built-in assets; always toy around with a cloned copy.
