Broken content since patching TS2010 SP3?

Has anyone else found content not working since patching TS2010 to SP3? I've found WEN's class 317 DTS doesn't show up in Railyard or Surveyor now, where it did prior to patching...

Did you do an Extended Database repair after the patching?

You may have to run this a few times once the patch is installed, if you have a lot of downloads.

Sometimes just selecting the assets will remove the errors, and if not, open them for edit, then close them again.

You guys give up too easy!

It maybe (perhaps it is! ) in the content manager, but that's all I'm prepared to say on that.

So yet again, another patch may create more problems that it solves.

That's not the point. The point is that can be time consuming and become a chore rather than enjoying what is suppose to be a 100% workable and error-free product.

It was a bad joke. I forgot to hit a gremlin... ;)

I just ran a DB repair after something went weird, and now I have about 30 bad items. The errors are legit. I've gone through a couple of them, but now I'm brain dead and have to get up for work tomorrow. I'll pick up where I left off tonight.

The errors seem mostly related to the usual stuff - missing textures and shadow meshes. The fixes take around 20 sec. each, and yes they're a pain to do.

The product is okay, the third-party content isn't.

TS2010 SP3 thousands of errors after the patch and BD repair run.

Unfortunately, I too am seeing thousands of errors that were not present after a BD repair following installation of SP3.

I copied all the error messages into Excel and the total lines were 11,000+. Mostly new errors were: "Asset does not match database record" and "failed validation". A lot of "texture" errors and stuuff like that.

SP3 did solve a graphics problem I was having, but I could live without that one route in lieu of the current errors.

I agree that the installation of a patch should resolve more errors than it creates. I hope that Auran is developing a pacth for SP3 or a utility to run through the database and fix some of these things.

Manually fixing a few werrors is not a problem, but I draw the line at hundreds and thoussands!

When I install SP3, it stays at 50%. The installer doesn't complete the instal.
I have build 42831.
It will if you let it. Hope you didn't kill it, otherwise you've screwed your installation and you'll have to install from scratch again.

It kept there for 15 minutes. And yes I was stupid enough to kill it.:(

Lol, 15 minutes?

It took mine 6 hours, I left it running overnight, and it still wasn't finished next morning.

And no, I don't have an ancient PC. I think the amount of time the updater takes is dependant on how big your asset database is, and it does a *lot* of very inefficient - but probably reliable-ish - lock, update, commit, unlock operations on each asset.

OK, I try a fresh install and than the patch.
(how do you get that image of those locos in front of your name?)
