Boy, Did I Goof . . . Again !!

John, this is going to seem a little odd but, there is no error message as such. Here's what happens:
I used the icon to load the game, wait a few seconds, the menu comes up, another few seconds, then the menu gets a little
grey and everything freezes for about a minute. The "X" in the upper right corner goes grey and then a slightly
translucent red. I then click-on the red "X" (nothing else is happening) and then on the left side the words "not responding"
appears next to the word TANE.
I press the "X" again and a small menu comes up saying "The application is not responding. It may respond again if you wait."
I then press "End Process" and it all goes away.
No game - no nothing.

This is on a fresh install. I ran out for an errand or two and left the anti-virus running just on my SSHD where the game is loaded.
It came back with no viruses detected.

This to me sounds like a corrupted installation and not a virus on your system.

Try reinstalling again, uninstall first, and reinstall without your antivirus program running. That could very well have interrupted something and corrupted the installation, Norton and Kaspersky, for example, are notorious for that.

If this doesn't work, my next option would be to contact the helpdesk via the link above.
