Why don't you do what every other layout creator does and uses existing stations from the DLS? ... and where the heck is Boonah?

Quick post, ignorance, laziness,

If I didn't know better I'd think you were a immature child.

If you're going to ask for something, at least get the information,

If you're going to cry you don't have Gmax, download it at Turbosquid

If you don't have e-mail, how did you register here?? Make a Gmail account, 5 minutes needed tops

If I'm going to ask for something, don't gimme yourself and make a fool of yourself.

Where's the Boonah Line going to and ending at??

To be correct is was the Dugandan line and it Branched from the Ipswich line just west of Ipswich and just east of Thomas St. The line was Opened in the 1880s and terminated at Dugandan one station beyond Boonah. There was one branch off the line with the junction being near Munbilla.

The Mount Edwards Branch was operated between 1922 and 1960. The Dugandan line closing in 1964 and being truncated back to Churchill where a meatworks was served by the branch until closing in the last decade or so.

According to the Wikipedia article, virtually all the line infrastructure has now gone so you could use any suitable platforms and stations from the DLS without any issues.

I have about 5 different layouts on the DLS based on actual routes but I used existing DLS resources - some close in appearance to the originals but most not - to complete them without any complaints from those who have used them.

How authentic do you want your layout to be? How many hours are you prepared to put in learning GMax (Blender is a better 3D tool and at half the price:D) and then creating each authentic station? Do you have detailed plans and images of each station, yard, and other infrastructure item? Do you have detailed togographic maps of the line or do you have DEM data and know how to use it?

For these reasons most first time layout creators (myself included) find it easier to create a fictitious route, perhaps based on some reality or a local theme, to get to know the Trainz tools and methods first.

Just some free advice.

The "Australian Railway History" published by the ARHS, had a good article on that line. ARH was formally the ARHS "Bulletin" when the following was published in 1969. Back copy available from

A short history of the Fassifern (boonah) branch line (Armstrong, J.)
This history covers the Fassifern Branch which links lpswich-Harrisville-Boonah-Dugandan, opened 1882 and 1887 and closed beyond Churchill in 1964. The politics leading to the construction of the line are not covered, but otherwise it is comprehensive. There is also a brief mention of the Mount Edwards branch and of proposals to build the Via Recta route to Warwick. 18 photos, 1 map, 28 diagrams.
