BNSF Clovis Sub

Nice screenshots Andy. I'm so looking forward to running this route whenever you're done with it. Keep up the great work!

Eureka!!!

c2screen_120.jpg

I have looked forward to this shot for ages. Almost exactly two years after starting this project all the track is laid on Clovis2!!!! This is the Eastern 'Edge of the World', with the Eastern portals just visible in the distance. Texturing lags just three or four miles behind. Track laying and texturing on this route has become a total chore, but the end is at last in view. Clovis 2 finishes at Joffre, an anonymous crossing place at milepost 773. Will Clovis 3 take the route all the way to Clovis? Who knows, for the present I will be pleased to see the last of desert textures for a while - a long while...

Andy ;)

Steady work Derrmy,
Get the landscapers on overtime, they'll have grassed and trees planted in no time.
Been looking forward to the finishing for donkeys now, good job excellently done.

Congratulations Dermmy on reaching that milestone...well quite literally in this case.

:hehe:

Here's looking forward to the texturing and I can imagine you will love to see some green and trees in the future.

:)

More re-signalling, but I think the job is done....

You gotta love those tripple-head Safetrans from Justin!!

The route is in Beta - be out 'soon'. Just need to get some sort of a session sorted.... :)

Woot! Looks good there Dermmy. I'm really looking forward to adding this to Part 1. And congrats for getting this far. Yah those signals are looking really nice.

:)

Andy,

Let us all raise a glass to you on this great achievement!
It is so good to see it really coming together. As I have said in the past, this is by far on of the most revolutionary routes Trainz will ever see.

Here's to you,
Woody:cool:

Actually Andy, I couldn't find the word I was looking for!:hehe:
So "revolutionary" just came out.
Perhaps "realistic" and "detailed" fits it better.
Its also good to see Justin's stuff running on it, so I guess you can just say it really is the best !
Quality trains really make a difference in representing the route, I think it says 'Yeah, I'm choosy about what I put into it...because I want it to look the best it can in any case." And you know what? That isn't a bad attitude to have.

Keep it up Andy,
Woody

Fantastic news Andy, the route is in Beta.......Yayyyyyyy.

Well done Sir, you can feel very proud of your achievement, I know it's taken ages, but, your army of worldwide fans will applaud you for the rest of the year.....

P.S. I know this sounds a bit harsh, but, do you really need a session?? Everyone will utilise every locomotive and piece of rolling stock available to run on your map from every railroad company going, so, we can all create our own sessions and consists.....And of course, it'll cut down on the amount of assets we have to download along with your map also, especially those on dial-up.....

Cheerz. ex.

Thanks Ex

I always pack sessions separately so there is no compulsion on anyone to download or run them.

The Clovis1 session proved surprisingly popular and my original plan was to simply make it 'bigger' to cover the entire route. Unfortunately the size of the route makes a session with realistic traffic levels impossible. With a bit of traffic around it can take an AI train about three hours to drive portal-to-portal, plus a forty minute fuel stop at Belen. The real line runs about 100 trains a day, so that is a new portal-spawned train at each end of the route every 30 minutes. That would put about 16 trains on the route at a time. That's got the AI trying to keep track of about 1800 cars and forty or fifty locos spread over 120 miles of track. Plus the Union Pacific traffic on the Tucumcari Sub. See the problem? :)

Crash goes the session.

I am working on a couple of simpler ideas.............

Andy ;)
