BNSF Clovis Sub

@cookiemae, he'd probably be BETA testing them before release. Means he's testing them so I don't think he could pass them on.

@Dermmy, this is a fantasic route. I must get in-touch with you about the textures your using and plants and your grading methods.

Cheers, Daniel:)

Job well done.....

I guess its not done, but what you have so far looks fantastic.

I have a quick question. What is the name of the "shrubs/bushes" on the left hand side of the second screenshot you posted on the first page? I noticed them in a few other shots. They are good looking bushes and would like use them in few places myself.

Regards
Shane

TY everybody :)

@ Cowboy - all the 'bushes' are in fact trees sunk into the ground to varying depths. The four most commonly used are:

@ 3830 You will have mail shortly

@ cookie - the -9s are betas :)

Thanks for your kindness Andy. It helped heaps:D Looking forward to seeing more awesome shots.
(ps, I didn't realise you were an aussie:p)

A couple of high shots showing progress around the yard at Belen....

From the west:

High shots don't do the route justice though. The detailing and texturing assume a lower view...

Low is better:

...but trackside is best :)

First,

:mop::mop::mop::mop::mop:

Second,

How compatible is this across time? ie, is it pretty much the same now as it was in, say, the '30s or '50s?

First: LOL

Second: The main line track is BNSF Transcon - right up to date. Belen yard is BNSF Transcon heavily edited to keep it frame-rate friendly.

The whole thing could be fairly easily modified to late ATSF, just single most of the main and knock the pitstop fuel racks out of Belen. I may release two versions, the jury is still out on that though....

Andy, the route looks good at every level:p I don't understand how you texture so well. It looks SO REAL. woa
Good work as always and keep it up.

...surely...

8) Andy, are you trying to make me buy the BNSF Track Charts off e-bay?

I see the grades, and wish to kinda' drift off 'em with several thousand tons of intermodal freight!

New BNSF payware locos are offered, in the Arrow scheme!

Don't leave me worked up too long!

Nope - cause then youd spot all the mistakes :(

8000 feet; 6000 tons; 0.7% downgrade; 70mph. If you think stopping it is hard, you should try starting it in the other direction with all the 06 physics working

Look for it between Christmas and Easter....

Andy :)

Looking excellent Andy. It's great to see prototypical routes like these being done and you are certainly taking the realism to the next level (and I thought that was impossible after EK1 and 2!).

Cheers
Tony

...I'll bet I can!...

8)...provided I know the tonnage ratings for the motive power.

That is a very long train...I'd pull the length down to 5000 feet, or about 5000 tons, to learn on.

But I won't protest the train you run as configured!

I read BNSF has actually started testing distributed power units in or on the back of these long intermodals.

...And, don't worry Dermmy, I have a BNSF route started myself, and the route may be correct, however the scenery may be sparse!

BNSF have been test running 10000 foot trailer trains on the Transcon - mostly with three units up front and two pushers. The distributed power gets the air through the train faster if they need to stop the thing! I'd hate to be waiting at a grade crossing....

Andy :)

...now that you mention it...

8) I've monitored the Norfolk Southern in North Georgia, through Rome, auto rack trains of 11,000 feet, on my scanner.

It's the peak of my imagination for a trailer on train express(TOTE, on the L & N, or trailer on flat car, TOFC),
to stay on the rails, let alone use DPU power.

I guess it's all in knowing the Dynamics of Train Handling.
