bit defender screws up comp.

Did anyone get caught with the update that bit defender put out that caused most of your files to be quarantined.
Now I got to move all my data from trs to different drive ,then reload .\Where do I go so I can copy all my maps, tress cars etc . In 04 it was in world .Where in 09 are they.

That's trojan.fakealert.5 which occurred today around noon today. I suspect might be a DNS cache poisoning attack which uploaded fake code during a routine update, not something BitDefender deliberately did. Any AV is potentially susceptible to this. Either way, I don't use BD but we'll find out soon enough what happened. Just keep your files in quarantine for the time being, but I think a System Restore will do well if you really need to use what you have. If you do so, however, I recommend disconnecting from the internet (physically, turn off your router, temporarily remove the cable in back, etc.) and disable BD's automatic updates for the time being. Once automatic updates are disabled and your comp restarted, you can reconnect your router and/or cable. You may need another restart.

P.S. Be careful Googling on trojan.fakealert.5. About half the sites coming up on Google are potentially infected sites themselves. But that's not a surprise in the immediate aftermath of an attack.

In 2009 all your content, both created and downloaded etc is stored in one big folder called "local". You will need to copy this file to a safe place or whatever, while playing around to try and correct any problems you are having.

I am not sure where it is now after your problems, but it is normally in the 2009 folder. It is very hard without CM2 to be able to pick out individual files/content/folders to move to a safe place.

Bit defender on their web site are apologizing for the faulty update.They appear to be accepting the blame for it. My problem is that it was not doing an update, it was scanning and was telling me all the files were infected. So After I stopped that I did a search for a fix and the first thing that came out was to uninstall bit defender. It did not tell me that all the files were quarantined and it also did not ask if I wanted to do that, it usually ask's first. All my stuff has been restored except trs, I would like to know how to copy all my downloaded files from trs 09 into a different folder ,then reinstal trs and copy the files back.
