binary conversion

having soem errors im not familiar with
Error: Unable to load primary texture '844_body/caldaia_bump2.tga' for texture file '844_body/caldaia_bump2.texture.txt'.
Error: Binary conversion failed for texture resource '844_body/caldaia_bump2.texture.txt'.
there an easy way to repair these?
 
is the file caldaia_bump2.tga even there? If not, you'll get that error.

Often you can just point the associated texture file (in this case, caldaia_bump2.texture.txt) to point to some other texture file. Doesn't matter which.
 
The texture may have been associated with the wrong texture slot on the mesh. To fix this, use PEV Softs PM2IM to remap the texture slot properly.

I have had this happen on occasion when importing one of my own creations into CM ('import content') but found that trying again, and agreeing to overwrite, often worked without a problem.

At other times, it was, as said, due to the fact that the texture file was in fact missing - even though I had used 'Resource Collector' in TACS/GMax.

Ray,

This has always been a bug in Max and GMax that goes back a decade. When I was involved in 3d Modelling and graphics full time, we would collect model for other developers and this was always an issue. We spent more time putting textures on CDs and floppies (shows how long ago) to transfer the textures to them.

John - thank you. I shall just have to live with the occasional problem - and double-check each folder to make sure Resource Collector has done its job before importing.
