(Big Pix Warning) Hardly Workin': My Attempts to be a Contributing Member of Society

That's the neat thing about some of these fallen flags - the colors are't uniform. I've read anecdotes that when a L&N diesel needed a new coat they would just send someone out to the local bodyshop in whatever town the locomotive shops were and buy up the grey that looked the closest. I really want to do the L&N next on this GP30 because it was one of my hometown roads and it is pretty much absent from Trainz. Still sorting out the logo though.

>snip<

These colors seem better, but I need second opinions.

Much closer to what I've seen. Even when the paint IS the same color, depending on how good of a job they do putting the paint on or how much sun or abuse it gets, it doesn't take long to end up in a thousand different shades of the original color.

Here's a fictional road set in the late 1960s that I don't have the route building skills for in Trainz nor the money to build as models. Maybe some day. Anyways, it shows off some of the refinements I've started on the doors and grills.

This scheme would probably look better as an E7 in front of a Silver Meteor consist, but then again what doesn't look better on an E-unit?

I've done it on F7A&B's..... Of course, I'm a big fan of my hometown fallen flags, though! Nice job, Opus!

Thanks, if you haven't noticed yet I'm very much partial to east coast fallen flags so the SCL is bound to turn up a lot. I posted a better picture in the render thread after I worked on the weathering, shadows, and doors a bit more.

Here's the updated B&O with all that stuff plus updated class lights.

I live for high hoods. There is an ex-Southern line, albeit an abandoned tunnel now, 30 yards behind me and the still active ex-NW line 100 yards in the other direction, though it is nothing but GE wide cabs now. I'll definitely do high hoods, but I started with the low short hood since there are far more roads using it.

I'm working on the U25B at the same time as this, but it's mostly mapping and other boring stuff like that right now.

I finalized a list of roads before I move on to something else. Most were already previewed here.

B&O
C&O
Chessie
L&N
SCL
N&W
SOU
NS
GN
CB&Q

I may revisit others at a later date, but I want to move on to the U25B, reworking the GP20, and my boxcars again.

Also - for those asking I went back and removed the pictures of the older stuff, i.e. the Amfleets and Heritage equipment, since those are pretty much vaporware at this point. They will require so much work to remodel, de-poly, and remap that I have no interest in finishing them. I only have a passing interest in modern equipment anyways. I would rather do pre-Amtrak streamliner passenger equipment, but if I do that then I am going to want to E-units and we get into this whole giving a mouse a cookie chain of events.
