Better viewpoint for surveyor 2009?

Hi All,

Just wondering if there is a way to get a better point of view in TRS2009 Surveryor? I've zoomed it back as far as possible, and made use of the minimap, but I keep getting lost in the perspective view, and I can't get the minimap to zoom all the way to show my whole layout anyway (several large routes merged). Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Greg

All I have is "Launch TS2009" and "TS2009 on the Web" and "Uninstall TS2009"... Is this something that I can download separately, or find somewhere in the my Trainz folder?

Thanks,
Greg

Greg,

Add this line to your trainzoptions.txt file in the TS2009 folder:

-surveyorfov=75

This changes the field of view in surveyor to a wider angle. The default is 55. I've used as high as 120 before when doing large areas of terrain adjustment.

Be aware that the larger the number used will reduce the ability to zoom in for detail work so expect to reduce it back towards 55 after the need for the wide angle view is past.

Also under the Content Search Filter panel are ten dots. These can be used to bookmark the position of the cursor on your map. Simply right click a dot to turn it green and store the current cursor position. Then left click the dot later to return to that same spot. If you mark the key areas of your map then you can quickly jump around without getting lost.
