Better than stock enginesound?

Hi, all.
I was hoping to find a replacement for:

enginesound <kuid:-1:42003000>
AKA EMD (sub),<kuid:-25:145>.

It's in 41 built in locos and another 66 that I have DLd (all Auran SD40s, GP-38s. some SW7s?!?). I like that it has an audible turbo component, but it has a screechy quality, particularly at idle, that makes my teeth hurt (think nails on blackboard).

Since it is used in such a wide variety of locos, the replacement doesn't have to be super-accurate. Any US mainline loco sound with an audible turbo should work fine for me. I've been looking for an SD40 that uses another sound but I can't figure out how to search for it in CM - AND NOT [having xxx as a dependency?] - so the manual search has been going quite slowly.

I thank you all for sharing your expertise.

I altered a whole bunch of "Built-In" dependencies, that are used on hundreds of locos and railcars.

I got rid of all the sliding Paintshed trucks, with animated rolling trucks ... but as soon as the TAD updated, it reverted all my hard work back to the normal lame sounding assets.

Some "built in" locos (F7) have a bell that sounds like: "Dank Dank Dank Dank", an enginesound that is so lame, and a horn that sounds like some sort of out of tune animal call.

It would be nice if someone was able to edit "built-in" assets on the DLS, and update then with better sounds, and obsolete the sliding paintshed trucks.

Especially getting rid of the lame wheel sound effects (I have disablerailjointsound in my trainzoptions)

I've always wondered why in TS12 we still have builtin locos that are ancient. If they were better maybe Trainz would attract more people.

Check out "br EMD 16-645E3 diesel engine sounds (TS12)" by berez. It's <kuid2:507316:1855:2>
It sounds absolutely glorious at every notch, has wonderfully smooth transition sounds, and has all these nice pops and hisses that I just love. It'll work for just about anything with an EMD 645 prime mover in it, and if you don't know or don't care which ones those are, just use it for anything you want. I don't know whether or not it has turbo sounds, but I really think you should check it out.

And that is why I almost never use 12. 10 seems to let me keep my stuff. Dunno about TANE... sounds like I'm glad I've waited...

Thanks, BNSF_EMD, I will definitely give that a try. (the turbo sounds rather like a jet engine).

It's possible that when auran updated
<kuid:-1:42003000> to <kuid:-25:145> they toned down the screechy a bit... I'll have to plop 6 of them down near where I'm struggling with a multi-platform passenger station to be sure. (that's the sad thing: bothers me a little in driver, when I have to listen to it while I'm trying to work in surveyor ... it gets on my last nerve)
