Best Way To Lay Down A Curve

I have never seen a template that is fully adjustable, and is usable for radius from 50m to 250m ... most templates are absolutely huge thousands of foot radius, and are hard to use, and they do not conform to a DEM terrain (not that FT Track does either) ... but FT Track shows where to place spline point circles, and FT 1000m straight, is a good straight edge tool. And by tacking on 3-4 10m FT Straight sections to an assembled FT Curve, it makes perfect lean-in / lead-out, curve easements.

Templates are only available in a few choice sizes ... none of them come close to matching a curve radius in the US.

Real RR's do not have track radius templates, they use sighting by a surveyor tripod, or by laser measuring tools today ... why not do as they do ... use a ruler !

My only problem with creating easements is due to how the spline system works. Your idea works just fine, but as one lengthens the start (first) and end (last) segments to create this easement, the 2nd and 2nd-last segment becomes sharper than the desired curvature.

I am just curious. Are there any routes on the DLS that someone laid track down with no scenery on them for someone to complete the route. If so, Can you point me in the right direction to them? Thanks
