JackieG: It is kind of confusing how to change the smoke..But Here goes..This will only work on Ben Neal's stuff..The first thing is to do,find the engine file in your computer, computer/osc/program files/auran/2009/data user/editing..Incidentily, you must have downloaded two engines #141 Renfe, 242F Renfe from Trensim..Find humoconfederada.tfx(#242F) or vapor1ms.tfx(#141)..Copy either one of those, now to Cm, find the engine, Edit thru exploerer..Paste what you have copied into window that opens up, next go to con fig file open and find Stack.tfx..Change that to either humoconferderada.tfx or vapor1ms.tfx..Good Luck..It took me a couple of shots at it..

works great , u can copy the .tfx from 242 or 141 then paste it in the N&W J folder and delete stack.tfx file then rename the pasted file to stack

GP30Fan the custom script file that comes with the J is steamlocomotive0905.gs. This is Ben's version of a script I wrote for steam locos. I've run the J in TS10 in both native and compat mode with no errors from this script.

Is the file you have actually named tc3steamlocomotive0905.gs? I thought at 1st it sounded like an unpublished script I worked on a few years ago but I usually tacked tc3 at the end of the file name.

Anyhow Ben's script controls the low speed exhaust cuff sounds among other things but has no bearing at all on the smoke effects. If you modified the script you might get a ton of errors from it.

Yes rather confusing.

I'm wondering where the tc3steamlocomotive0905.gs file comes from. I don't have a file with that name as part of Ben's package for the J.

In CM did you open the asset "N&W Class J 600" (kuid:96914:6050) for edit in explorer? What .gs files do you find in the editing folder? My package has only 2: steamlocomotive0905.gs and steamlococabindata.gs. No script file names (.gs files) starting with tc3.

That's what I get for not testing that script. What's weird is that tc3steamlocomotive0905.gs is not called by the config. It's an optional swap-out. It apparently needs some work. For the time being, delete it. I'll see about fixing it up when I get back from work.
