BBC film: London to Brighton in under four minutes (1983)
* In 1953 the BBC filmed a train journey from London to Brighton, squeezed into just four minutes. In 1983 the BBC filmed the journey again to see how much had changed over the preceding 30 years - and how much is still the same. This BBC film was only used as an interlude segment on BBC One if a TV programme had finished early and there was just enough time in the TV schedule to slot this film in before the next programme was due to start.
