How do we know if someone is Banned? I see "Banned" under several user's usernames. I know there was some discussion about this last year, and the Mods said it was a "No-no" but I continue to see it under username titles.

Is there a way to find out if someone is banned, like in their profile or something?

Thanks

Dave

Well if they were really banned they would not be able to post

I know there was some discussion about this
I guess you mean this discussion.

Especially after recent discussions like this one (mainly that a moderator started the discussion and stated "I will round up the instigators and ban them without warning"), I still don't understand why people can still give themselves this title as a joke.

Just ban everyone with the "banned" title and lets get this discussion over with. There are plenty of other things (just to name a few) to joke about, so I am sure you can live without this "banned" one; I personally liked that whole trend of alternative / almost "banned" titles.

Are you for real - must have been edited as its nothing like that now - bit not surprised as that not the type of clanger you ever want a mod to make.
With some of the ho har that people are getting away with these days not surprised that even the mods are slipping.

Please for the love of everything don't take this topic further.

This topic should be HEAVILY DISCUSSED FURTHER.
I will only write once on this topic, however and yes it is after reading the closed thread today following relocating thus away from the forum.

This community has very understanding people who do their best not to judge a person who has a disability. There are many forms of disabilities and I myself have a very rare form of disability only a select few know about unless published without permission in other areas. Judging someone for face value based on their disability first is absolutely wrong. In addition, some disabilities trickle down to other forms of mental or physical issues. Again, I can place myself into this category as well whereas I have been targeted by others as a result.

This individual had a disability inhibiting his/her abilities to communicate thus "Normal" people found it was right to make degrading comments about this individual. For those who have done so, Shame On You and Karma is real. You should never ever judge a person based on a forum activity or even outside the forum. Without fully knowing the individual, how can you honestly know the person. Sadly, this world has lost a significant amount of compassion for others and it is only getting worse.

A person with a disability can also in time find ways to improve on his/her disability and trickle down issues as a result of his/her disability. It may take many attempts and different approaches, however a person with a disability always wants to try to fit in to what is understood as "Normal". I applaud anyone with a disability who works hard to change and/or improve upon his/her disability not only for judgmental society but most importantly for oneself. I can honestly state I have done so and yet unfortunately my past haunts me especially in this forum. I have found to try hard to stay strong and look beyond that of those who do carry the past against me.

How can we relate this to Trainz. Pretty simple actually. Everyone is at a different level regarding skills associated with a number of activities one can choose to contribute to Trainz. If you are a beginner, surely your first efforts are not that of a seasoned longtime contributor. Does this mean that the individual who is less advanced than another be considered disabled and judged accordingly in a negative manner? ABSOLUTELY NOT.

I doubt the individual discussed in the forum post link will ever read this but I truly hope so. As I have found fighting my disability and trickle down negative effects I have learned that you must IGNORE THOSE WHO ARE IGNORANT TO LIFE. What do I mean by this? Simple, there are billions of people in this world and to say there is a "NORM" among all beyond basic human functions is RIDICULOUS.

Stay strong, God Speed, and hope you find another area of interest as satisfying to you as Trainz.

See that's why. Look what you did. Now people are discussing this ridiculous subject that will amount to probably nothing. The BANNED thing is only a joke and now people are butthurt and can't seem to get un-butthurt about the subject.

Now this will turn into people discussing disabilities in the trainz communities and such, because somebody had to bring it up from another thread that doesn't seem to be very related to the "BANNED user joke." Sometimes I wonder why I even visit this ridiculous forum.

EDIT - after further review the above post has no relevance to the topic at all.

Sorry I do not understand what this has got to with people using the banned tag ???

Brittany, you've just posted a wall of text from which I can derive no succinct point, at the same time completely going off topic, which is banned users and active users with a fake banned tag.

Disabled people have nothing to do with this???

Now for an on topic post - before the lock

Dave you can check if somebody is banned for real. I (think) that you cannot private message a person that is banned so that option wont be available. That would be your sign.

Good Evening All
Although we would prefer people to not use the 'banned' title, we do not see any direct issue with it. If a member is banned, they will not be able to post, simple as that. If the fake 'banned' user title does eventually cause issues, we may look into it further, however at this time it is not actually hurting anyone (except maybe the person using it). From time to time I'll check a members account if I see the 'banned' usertitle and a recent post, just in case (both to see why they might have been banned, and if they should actually be banned).

Again, we don't recommend it, but at this time we don't plan to police this either.

@McGuirel, I'm not sure what your post has to do with this topic really. As it is your post is completely off-topic to this thread, and is on-topic for a closed thread. Which was closed to stem any further personal attacks from and against many members. As per my comment in that thread, the inappropriate posts were coming from both parties. Disability does not give you the automatic right to break rules, or abuse people. It doesn't mean you have to take abuse, but it's not a reason to be abusive either, which is what was occurring recently. Especially where people are legitimately trying to help, or have asked actually asked a legitimate/serious question...

As it is, this thread is closed, as there's really nowhere it could go but downhill now.

Regards
