Hi, in Trainz 2009 and Trainz 2012 I am having screenshot problems and the wheels on the trains dissapear. Is it possible that I have bad software packages?

Thanks

Try Changing your Trainz display options from dx to openGL in the options tab on the launch screen.

Not sure if it's the case b/c I don't know your PC specs, but I suspect for bogies to begin disappearing you could well be running low of available ram.

Glue more chips to the board? :hehe:

But seriously, if your computer is low on RAM, then you could just add another stick of RAM. If you don't have any more slots, then "double-up" I.E. replace a 1G stick with a 2G stick. Like that.

As far as I can see, you haven't stated your OS in either thread.

Regardless of graphics card ram, Win XP 32bit will only register 3Gig of ram regardless of GFX card ram. So if you have 2Gb of motherboard ram, and 3Gb of GFX card ram, 3Gb's on the card goes to waste (the OS doesn't 'see' it).

I had this same problem with TS2009, before I upgraded the PC to my specs below. It has never occured since in TS2009 or TS2010.

If you're running Vista (notorious sysytem hog, needs 2GB of ram just to operate at a basic level) I suggest getting Win7.

If you are running Win7, you very likely have defective/unseated ram and I'd suggest geting it looked at by a pro if you're unable to check it yourself.

Having bad assets not being used in your layout will not cause this effect. Trust me I had bad assets flagged in content manager, and even though they weren't in my layout this still occured for me.

I suppose there's always the possibilty that TS2009 has a hardcoded problem re ram. You'd need to contact Auran/N3V games on that score.

Hope this helps.

Be aware that it is possible to cull the bogeys dependent on distance and the content creator may have done this deliberately to reduce the machine load.
