Backing up stuff in '04 with Vista

I have to say that I think I'm in a little over my head with Vista. I've been having problems getting Content Dispatcher to work - it won't recognize any of the routes I've made. Anyway, I've tried numerous suggestions, as well as the solutions from the ContentDispatcher FAQs, such as running as adminstrator, renaming the files after re-registering everything, and still no luck. I've had some other small bugs which makes me think I had a bad install.

So, what I'd like to do (it was really easy in XP) is simply take my routes and either copy them to a backup folder, or burn them to a CD. The problem is, I can't find the folder where they'd be located (hidden?). Same thing with the downloads - I must have thousands of kuids downloaded from the dls, but in the downloads folder, there's only about 20.

Anyway, sorry to ramble, but if anyone could point me in the right direction to help me back up these routes, so I can reinstall 04, I'd be extremely grateful.

Look in Auran/trs2004/world. Inside the world folder you will find 2 folders. custom which has your own content in and dispatcher which has all your downloads in. hope this is of help.

Well, in XP, that's exactly what I would have done. However, in Vista, the custom folder only has the default ones (bogies, displacements, html, trains), and the downloads file only has a few downloads that I have done, most of which were third party downloads.

I'm wondering if the custom folders are somehow hidden.

But thanks for the suggestion anyway.

Hi
you'll find them under "c/appdata/local/virtualstore/program files/auran/etc. and yes, they are hidden.
go into search, choose advanced search and tick the "show hidden files " box.

and I agree, its a pain in the ass.

the trouble as well is,download helper puts things in that path but if you open a zip file or use ftp they open in the original path "c/prog files/auran/ etc.
so then you have to move them across.

hope this helps.
